My new custom of Brother Warth The Blue Lantern💙 When I decided to make this character I planned to make it fast and easy custom using Lego Chima Elephant head.. So I made his belly and painted the body.. And when I finally put his head on I realized that it was so big that it covered all the print and a lantern's emblem.. So I had to make his head also by myself

...wait

just got these off amazon, and only 5 bucks for the lot. just thought i'd post a nice photo, even though it isn't lego.

also, speaking of Tolkien fantasy, anyone see the fan cut of the hobbit? one guy cut all three movies into one four hour film. i really like it.

anyways, yeah, lantern rings. they're cool.

Character Creation

Saint Walker (Bro'Dee Walker) is a fictional comic book character appearing in American comic books and other associated media published by DC Comics.

He is an alien member of the galactic Blue Lantern Corps, an organization dedicated to spreading peace and harmony through the power of hope.

Publication history

Saint Walker first appeared in Green Lantern (vol. 4) #25 and was created by writer Geoff Johns and artist Ethan Van Sciver. His name is derived from Green Lantern fan Brady Walker.

Fictional Character History

Saint Walker is a priest living on the planet Astonia with a wife and two children. Despite Astonia's sun dying, Walker calms his people and gives them hope, leading to him being inducted into the Blue Lantern Corps. With his ring, he rejuvenates Astonia's sun, thereby saving the planet.

Saint Walker and his fellow Blue Lanterns are introduced during Final Crisis as part of the build-up to Blackest Night. During Final Crisis, Hal Jordan is injured in a conflict with the Red Lantern Corps before Walker heals him.

In Blackest Night, Walker joins the other Lantern Corps in attempting to destroy the Black Lantern power battery. He temporarily recruits Barry Allen into the Blue Lantern Corps, as the other members are unavailable.

In Justice League of America (vol. 2) #55 (2011), Saint Walker joins the titular team in battling Eclipso and attempts to assist the resurrected Hank Henshaw against Doomsday on Batman's orders.

In War of the Green Lanterns, Saint Walker is trapped inside the Book of the Black before being freed by Kyle Rayner.

The New 52

In Green Lantern: New Guardians, Saint Walker assists Kyle Rayner when he gains the power of all of the Lantern Corps. After returning to Odym, Walker learns that the Reach are attacking it and enlists the other New Guardians to battle them.

Following the defeat of the Third Army and the fall of the Guardians, the Blue Lantern Corps relocate to the planet Elpis. However, they are attacked by the entity Relic and temporarily lose their powers due to the emotional spectrum being depleted.

DC Rebirth

In the DC Rebirth title Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, Saint Walker appears on an unknown planet, and is engaged in battle with hostile aliens when Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner arrive. After they destroy the hostile aliens, Hal and Kyle ask Saint Walker to join them in meeting with Ganthet and Sayd. Later, Ganthet and Sayd test Saint Walker, attempting to form a psionic link with Kyle.

Abilities

Saint Walker possesses a blue power ring which is fueled by hope. He can create energy constructs, heal others, amplify the power of Green Lanterns, and weaken Red and Yellow Lanterns. However, Walker must be in proximity to Green Lanterns to use his powers fully, as hope is useless without willpower to act on it.

Oh man you guys have no idea how excited I was to find out that Christo was continuing his Flash figures! Plus from some reliable sources, I have heard that we'll be seeing The Dark Flash (Wally West's Clone) plus Jay Garrick as well! I'm super excited to expand to those figs as soon as they hit his internet shelves :P

I'm always impressed with Christo's new releases, but the two new Lantern Flashes have just blown my mind! Now as some of the other reviews of the Lantern figs from Adam over at Phoenix Brickshad mentioned, these figures look incredible in natural lighting! The belts and helmet-wings (plus the white lantern's boots) are all reflective!

Now with a bit of help from a Friend/ Lego Coworker, he enlightened me to the process of how Christo (supossedly) made the elements of the figures reflective. Now I don't know his process personally, but what I assume that the process he uses is called Vacuum Metallizing. Here is a few links to some info about it and a few places that produce "Chrome Elements":

Youtube Practical Stuff: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMurtKVUm3I

Model Cars/Commissions: www.chrometechusa.com/model-cars-and-collectibles.html

Custom Lego: www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ChromeBricks

But it's a very intense and cool process! I've got to hand it to Christo for going all out with these figs and putting the amount of time and effort into them for us collectors to enjoy :)

I've heard a lot of folks complain about the price-point but taken into consideration the work that goes into these figs, these are a pretty decent value.

Anyway, I know everybody has they're own opinions but I'm very pleased with the quality and extremely glad to own these five :)

This Blue Lantern Flash figure by Christo is incredible! This is such a fun MF and I'm super glad to have him as part of my collection of speedsters :)

With this help of a friend, we've figured that Christo uses Vacuum Metallizing to get the reflective qualities applied to his figures. Here is a few links to some info about it and a few places that produce "Chrome Elements" if you haven't seen it already:

I had so much fun shooting this fig that there were a bunch of other images besides this one that we may see in the future if you guys want me to post them, otherwise....

Next week we see the return of The Rouges to my photostream! :D

Updated figs, new adventures, and a bunch of Flash fun! I'm super excited to show them off (I've been shooting these set's since about March) and I'm sure you're gonna love them!

PS I'm super in love with this new lightning technique, and I hope you guys like it too :)

So here we are again, me typing this, and you reading. I've been putting a lot of thought into my account over the past few months. My photography has become such a joy to me and my life that I find the longer I do what I do, the more addicted I become (tragic right?) :P

I absolutely love creating art with Still-Life Photography. I been shooting Lego for nearly six years now and see no signs of stopping in the future. I've been part of an incredible community over the years and I find myself wondering if this is all worth it? Now I know that my photos are enjoyed by you all, and now I feel that this is the next obvious step in my relationship to Lego and my Camera.

To answer that question, 'is it worth it'? Well of course it is, but I don't wanna drown in my own ideas without being able to execute them. So I guess that's what leads us here....

I've started a Patreon to fund my photography. ...But what does that mean?

It means I've decided to give you even more content, but whether you want to see it is up to you. Patreon is a crowd-funding website, made to encourage artists and designers to make more stuff! Now that doesn't really change what's happening here on flickr, this little page isn't going anywhere!

Starting a Patreon is a bit nerve-racking, and some thoughts come to mind. Things like, will my followers support me and enjoy the extra content? Does this change the perception you guys have on me? And honestly, I really shouldn't be worried. I enjoy creating art, and you guys enjoy viewing those creations! So there doesn't seem to be any downside to something like this.

If you donate any amount you'll receive bonus content not seen on any of my other Social Media! Some of this stuff includes, behind the scenes of MOC's, builds that set my scenes, previews to new content, and upcoming projects (WIP's), plus other scraps that don't quite belong anywhere else! :)

My Patreon is set up as a subscription that you get to choose the price. Basically if you wanted to throw me a few dollars a month, you get access to more stuff related to my Photography! This could also include anything from previews of new figs, to tips and tricks to photography. A full year of that would be cheaper than a Large PAB cup!

Now if you're all like “Hey yo what? Pay for this junk? No way!” Dude that's totally fine! This is something totally up to you! I won't stop posting on flickr, but you may just see that stuff earlier on Patreon! You may even see how I built that one Rouge's lair or how I did that one effect in that one photo, et cetera :P

There are already a few posts up about my lighting setups and builds for the recent Black Lantern posts, Gotham In Red, The Flash No.123, and some other stuff! If you pay more than a dollar, you get even more content, like fully edited photo's that I don't post here! :)

I really enjoy this community that flickr has created and I want to be a part of it for as long as I can. Supporting my work will only encourage me to create more and strengthen the community! Plus, it funds cool things like Fish-eye lenses, new lighting equipment, More Christo figs, and more Bricklink Orders!

There is no shame in not contributing! I'll be just fine if you feel you can't donate, but this would help keep my page floating! And hey, you all get a peek into my workspace, and that's kinda what drives me to create my Patreon. To be able to share my creativity, keep teaching, and learning what it's like to be a professional photographer... what ever that means :P

Thanks guys :)

Now I'll be honest, I didn't expect Christo to make a Black Lantern Eobard, but it was a pleasant surprise! It uses the same metallic printing as seen before on The Dark Flash, and The White Lantern. I don't know how often I'll actually shoot with this fig, but I'm really glad to have him, just to keep complete, with the full set of Christo Flash's. :)

These shots were taken on the same graveyard as my Black Lantern Batman flic.kr/p/FHcBcM , but I wanted to make these images a bit more artistic, rather than a re-creation of an actual comic panel. Scott Kollin's work in the mini Blackest Night spin-off is awesome, and I did my best to kind of channel that artistic flow.

I was a little late to the scene with this one, but I'm finally getting to share these shots with you guys! I hope you guy's like them! :)

So to explain this best, there is a small story running through my head about what I'm calling The Beacons (Or something like it.) This set was in fact inspired by a dream I had where Carol Ferris was nearing the end of her life, facing a cancer/incurable disease (So in a similar fashion to Pa Kent's heart attack, Hal Jordan could do nothing to save her).

So, due to the over bearing emotions flooding him, he finds that he's losing touch with his power ring. Due to this, leads him to request from The Guardians a temporary leave of absence.

Naturally, The Guardians say no, but work with him anyway. They assign him to the edge of know spacial territory, as a temporary fill-in for the previous GL on duty.

Now in my mind, The Beacons, act as a exploration unit for the Green Lantern Corps. There are a bunch of these scattered around the universe, but they always travel in groups of three. (They're like, sentient explorer robot... spaceships... that The Corps protects)

Anyway, so Jordan, while spaceship babysitting, discovers something he had never expected to find.

A Blue Lantern!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, before we get all huffy-puffy about how this isn't cannon to any GL story, I know that. :P

This was just a lot of heavy inspiration from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and a bit from Green Lantern: The Animated Series. And yes, it did come to me in parts as a dream (Woah, trippy)

P.S. I'm a terrible writer so if you have any questions, or found something that didn't make sense, you're welcome to ask

I'm very proud of this set for a multitude of reasons. One being the fact, that I've been shooting GL for nearly as long as The Flash. (I know right?) but I've never been 100% happy with them though, and up to this point, it had never quite made the Andrew Cookston quota that I strive for. (Realistic Lighting/Editing balance)

The second item of importance is Saint Walker from greenpeatoys! He's a wonderful minifig that has been hiding in my sorting system for some time now, so I'm quite glad I can finally showcase him here.

And lastly (that's a word right? Lastly :P) I've tried something which I've never tried before. Force perspective building! If any of you have been following me for long enough will notice, I don't build all that often, so it always makes me nervous how these things will come across, so let me know what you guys think of that as well.

Anyway, that was a lot of typing, I'm gonna go now *phew*

:P

Top row:

Red lantern Spiderman: When uncle Ben got killed, Peter was filled with rage. The ring came towards him and chose him. When Peter got the ring he followed the man who killed his uncle. He killed the man and became a red lantern who had the name Spiderman.

Bottom row:

Blue lantern Nightwing (Dick Grayson): When Nightwing was sitting on a roof near Blüdhaven, he saw something flying in the sky. When he looked closer, he saw that it was coming at him. He tried to run away, but it was too fast. He saw that it was a blue lantern ring and he tought that he wasn't ready for the responsibility. But he knew that he couldn't run forever, so he stopped put the ring around his fingee and became a blue lantern.

Green lantern Robin (Damian Wayne): When his father became a green lantern, he wanted to be one too. So, he started to try and have more willpower but he failed over and over again. Until, on a night, Batman, his father, came to him and teached him how to have more willpower and after a long time of training, he saw something green flying in the sky. The ring came towards him and he took the ring and put it on his finger. He now was a green lantern and he fought side by side with his father.

I hope you guys like them. I probably won't win because the other entries are hella good, but it was still fun to enter. So, hopefully you like it (:

This is my entry for The Scarecrow 's contest 4. Recur has hope that his father is still alive and out there and he has hope that the Flickr Fighters will get back together. So I hope you all like it! Please comment if you have a question or if you want to say something else!

Red, Green, and Blue Lanterns.

The great ruler of the yellow element of fear and Sinestro Corps has unleashed his army on the poor planet Odym, home planet of the Blue Lanterns; defenders of hope. Saint Walker and the few Blue Lanterns there are fought the yellow entity bravely but were outnumbered. In a desperate attempt to save the Blue Central Battery, saint Walker reaches out for the Green Lantern of sector 2814, Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern to help fend of his arch rival.

First of the Justice League/Legion of Doom face off's I'll be doing, the first is obviously Green Lantern vs Sinestro with the help of Saint Walker. Set on the Blue Lantern home planet Odym based on the episode of the GLAS I saw it in.

I put a lot of thought into this one. The hand positions (which I hope I got right) are Buddhist mudras: Abhaya and Varada. The Abhaya Mudra signifies peace and protection. It means "fear not." The Varada Mudra symbolizes charity and can signify the wish to grant salvation. In combination, the two mudras are called Segan Semui-in.

The Blue Lantern wields the light of hope. In the books, the blue light can drain the power of fear and show others what they hope for. So the Segan Semui-in seemed appropriate.

Had to get this guy out today HOT OFF THE PRESS. DCs Newest Lantern Corp the GOLD Lanterns. I don’t know anything about this guy and I’m sure NOBODY does since he’s only had 1 appearances in Legion of Superheroes number 6 along with Monster Boy and a brand new Doctor Fate. I already am working on Monster Boy so expect him to come within the month. Most of the Doctor Fate costumes look the exact same so that’s gonna be a little tougher trying to create a different look for the newest Doctor Fate of the 31st century. I hope Gold Lanterns powers are dope I hope we meet them in the modern age with the 21st century superheroes like the Justice League. We already know that White Lanterns and Black Lanterns are some of the strongest ones so I wonder where Gold will fit on the color/emotional spectrum. I’ve theorized Happiness or Anxious. But who knows hopefully his history is fleshed our soon. I hope other people also enjoy the Legionnaires as much as I do and I hope maybe I can give inspiration to other people cause it was a fairly simple design.

I am a huge Green Lantern fan and have been since 1992. The Green Lantern Corps are an intergalactic police force wielding the power of the green light in their power ring. Over the past year, other corps have come about wielding different colors of the spectrum. In an all out war of light, nothing can stop the coming of the Black Lanterns. Blackest Night is a prophecy told in the Book of Oa about seven different colored corps at war. The dead shall rise as Black Lanterns destroy all the corps and the universe. To commemorate with this year's summer event, DC Comics and Graphitti Designs released shirts of the different colored corps.
