FlickrFriday this week is pyramid! This one is part of the architecture at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent. As it was a boring rainy day with grey nondescript sky, I decided to add some effects to cheer it all up.

Thanks for viewing 😀

Beautiful Sprague Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park.

The westbound Amtrak Bluewater Limited on the GTW has E8 437 in charge leaving Durand, Michigan with a round ended observation car on each end of the consist - April 10, 1976.

The second instance of a hybrid.

Lake State's 505 job shifts Dunn Paper at Port Huron, MI. Stationed right on the inlet of the St. Clair River, this spot was a unique scene for rail and sail combos. Unfortunately, Dunn Paper closed up not too long after I visited and I believe they are in the process of tearing the plant down. Progress sucks. 8/24/22

Amtrak's Bluewater is running a little bit late as it emerges from a snow squall at the west end of CN's Snow Yard in Millet. The train would meet Q122 around the corner at CP Mill.

Alley Spring in Shannon County. Located six miles west of Eminence, Missouri.

Sarnia's lights go well with those on the bridge, IMO.

A blue hour view looking north towards the Bluewater Bridges at Sarnia with the last of the winter ice pushed against the shoreline. Old pilings still protrude through the ice and water.

A 30 second exposure at f/11 caught the "starbursts" on the lights, but also some blurred movement in the ice flowing in the main river current. The backwater along the shore was stationary.

The twin Bluewater Bridges span the St Clair River and connect Sarnia, Ontario, Canada with Port Huron, Michigan, USA. This image is taken from the Canadian side with Port Huron in the left rear side.

A setting looking to the northwest while taking in views and walking the boarded walkway of the Dune Succession Trail in Indiana Dunes National Park. I was getting at the height along the trail to see Lake Michigan with its blue water just beyond one of the dune ridges.

The westbound Amtrak /Via International - later Bluewater does it's station stop in Durand, Michigan on October 13, 1989, back in the days when the two carriers were pooling equipment between Chicago and Toronto, here a headend crewman gets lunch from the conductor.

In Bluewater, New Mexico. Along "old Route 66" outside Grants. As in many of these old motels, the motel itself has long been closed.

Amtrak 365, The Bluewater, is bearing down upon the town of Charlotte (pronounced "Shar-lot") on a cold December morning. A pair of SC44 Chargers on both ends have been the standard fare on this train for a few years now.

Went for an overnight hike with friends to Elfin Lake in Garibaldi National Park. We were very fortunate to get some blue sky the day after as the hike up was very gloomy. Took one last pano of the lakes as we were leaving. Super happy with the turnout.
