A new photo on the freedom / captivity theme.

I bought a goldfish and a bowl the other day but I had to make sure that the goldfish had a bigger and better home after the photoshoot was done. I was considering buying a gigantic aquarium with all accessories needed. It could have been an expensive photo ;) But a friend of mine could take care of the fish for me :)

Thank you so much for all the comments and positive response lately! It means the world to me!

I photographed this scene earlier this month at Lindo Lake in Lakeside, California on a day with great clouds and almost no wind.

I used channel swapping to get the blue tint that you see in this image. Here is a link to a tutorial on playing with infrared images. www.lifepixel.com/photo-tutorials/infrared-photoshop-videos

Other infrared images that I've posted on Flickr can be seen in my creatively named Infrared album which has over 700 images in it..

Two. A storm whips up the sea at Newhaven Harbour. I love seeing the compositions constantly changing every few seconds. New opportunities revealing themselves with every gust of wind. Definitely in need of a good storm right now to blow away all the cobwebs.

A Journey to connect Heart-to-Heart takes buy a moment; it involves the risk of being Vulnerable... Quote Mrs Happy Face ..

Mulinetti greets the evening with its embrace of rocks and sea, while Recco and Ruta shimmer on the hills like a weave of suspended lights. The coastline dissolves into deep blue, and every wave seems to hold a fragment of quiet and memory.

The Indus River (also called the Sindhū or Abāsīn) is a major south-flowing river in South Asia, particularly Pakistan. The total length of the river is 3,610 km (1,988 mi) which makes it one of the longest rivers in Asia. Originating in the western part of Tibet in the vicinity of Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, the river runs a course through northern India (Ladakh), into northern Pakistan (Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), and then flows along the entire length of Pakistini Punjab to merge into the Arabian Sea near the city of Thatta in Sindh. It is the longest river and national river of Pakistan.

The river has a total drainage area exceeding 1,165,000 km2 (450,000 sq mi). Its estimated annual flow stands at around 243 km3 (58 cu mi), twice that of the Nile River and three times that of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers combined, making it the twenty-first largest river in the world in terms of annual flow.

Photo was taken in Shigar (Skardu - Gilgit Baltistan - Pakistan) where Shigar river merges into Mighty Indus.

from the pavement of amsterdam, this building stretches upward, a monument to urban precision and cool elegance. its glass facade mirrors the shifting tones of the sky, like a canvas of reflection. the lines are sharp, parallel, drawing your gaze skyward, as if urging you to follow its climb toward the clouds. there’s something serene in its symmetry, yet a quiet power in its height. the overcast atmosphere softens the edges, making the architecture feel both immense and weightless at once.

Back to flowers again... this is gypsophila.

the light of the late afternoon stretches long across the stones, as two shadows meet and hold hands on the steps. the cool blue of the railing above contrasts with the warm browns of the aged stone wall below, creating a moment suspended between day and dusk, movement and stillness. the textures and colors tell a quiet story of connection in an urban landscape, where light finds a way to animate the simplest of moments.

Have a great Sat/Sunday!

This is the second part of my Bubble-series. I wanted to illustrate a feeling of integrity. This woman stands in the middle of the forest. She has her own space where no one can enter. I use the bubble to illustrate integrity. The red fabric is both dramatic and a strong colour. I wanted the fabric to be some kind of armour around the woman. A red armour that arises if anyone comes to close. Have you found your own space in this world, and are you able to preserve it?

This is also my entry for Brooke Shadens competition with the theme Motion. I got the idea for this shoot before the competition started, but as I thoght about the red fabric flowing in the air I felt it would fit into the theme very well!

I feel I want to give credit to Karrah Kobus and Brooke Shaden for inspiring me when editing this photograph. Even before I joined flickr I had the idea of this bubble, but it is the inspiration from these wonderful photographers that has helped me to visualise what I had in my mind for almost three years. Both Karrah and Brooke uses colours in an amazing way!

This is another attempt to train myself to consider high key processing. It’s of a purple large-flowered clematis flower with a dark green background. The processing makes it look rather different though.

Processed as a monochrome using Nik Silver Efex with blue toned. The light vignette and vignette blur were added in Nik Color Efex. I rather like the intriguing effect of the shallow depth of focus and the vignettes.

Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Monochrome Thursday :)

I've reached the halfway point of my 100 x series. I've still got to catch up on images taken in the last couple of months but I'm glad I've reached the 50 upload mark by the end of June!

Thanks for your views, comments and favourites.

After work today, Mom and I headed out to treat ourselves to a manicure each; which was awesome, and much needed.

But, by the time we drove away from the salon, the light was gone and I still hadn't shot something for the day.

Luckily, the rain worked in my favour this time and I was able to get a shot from the window with some nice bokeh from the street lights.

It's subtle, but it sort of sums up a rainy day well.

Anyway, hope everyone has had a good day.

my account ran out, i guess i should renew. it's finally raining here, can't remember the last time that it rained all day- good for relaxing. have a good one everybody -Nate.

I like sunflowers.. but there not my favorite flowers. I finally found an awesome trick to get delicious bokeh, and my sister said that we could possibly go buy some more flowers today.

So here's another shot from heybrook bay, this one taken well after the sun had set and most of the colour had gone but I wanted to try and get something a bit different. I also really wanted to get some nice sea mist in the shot so a 10 second exposure gave me that. I was also pleased that once I got home and got the photos on my computer that the rocks were really shiny so that gave an added little bonus effect.
