The national news is full of bad weather, labeled "California". We are not really close to any of that, even though TV reports might suggest that we are. Tomorrow afternoon rain is due to start again here and continue for several days. . . . we'll see. We do get some landslides in the nearby residential hills--hopefully not including houses.

The crane relates to massive construction on the other side of campus--a huge new computer science center is underway.
