the blue mosque - still a place of worship

This string of lights, hung between two Blue Mosque minarets, spells....Lailahe Illallah.. In english, this means something along the lines of .....There is no deity but God. or .....There is no lord worthy of worship but Allah

Not much of a shot. But it gives you some idea of the size of the place.

Dome above mimbar of hagia sofia. Hagia Sofia is no longer a mosque but Attaturk had it turned into a museum, so I believe the image of Mary (r) and Jesus (as) are later restorations.
