It's Puppy day today March 23rd 2022. When looking for some puppy pictures to upload I liked these two pictures of Ashala on my bed with my whistle in her mouth. I liked the caption "The Whistle Blower" but couldn't decide which picture to upload between the two of them so I decided I'd upload both...lol

Happy Fly Day Friday, hope you all have a great day and weekend. Take care and stay safe you wonderful folks out there. ;0)

Man blowing on a so-called Midwinter Horn

Storytelling with light and darkness. I love the rim light and how the dandelion just shines. I tried to capture the blowing seeds but this image spoke to me more than the others.

Time to remove the first 6 to 8 inches of snowfall from our driveway. Winter has finally arrived in rural Alaska.

Plaque 'The "Black" Country - The Black Country is what it is because of what is underneath it. Beneath us is a more concentrated wealth of minerals than anywhere else on earth. Ironstone, limestone & the thickest coal in Europe can be found with just a shovel. The land was so exploited that there was barely a living thing on the surface. This scarred landscape became our Black Country.'

When I photograph the brown bears, I'm always fascinating by certain things that perhaps some take for granted ... such as shaking off, snorkeling, pads and claws, and dripping faces. This image is of a brown bear as it fishes for salmon by essentially snorkeling on the surface of the water, head down, looking for salmon. However, this is the moment which precedes the actual head emerging and full of water drips moment. Bubbles! When they lift their head they expel bubbles from their nose, much like we would do. So fun to see, but sometimes challenging to capture. LOL. OK, some may think that's a bit weird to aspire to capture, but I love it. Takes me back to my early days in swim class, LOL. What's your favorite things that brown bears do?

Happy Tuesday!

I was determined to try and find a fly out there today, as the sun is shining brightly in the garden today. Caught this little hoverfly just before it crawled down into the hellebore then seemed to disappear although I'm sure that's his tongue so maybe he was just blowing a raspberry at me! lol! HFDF

This winter I completely took apart a 1993 Yamaha golf cart, rebuilt everything and painted it. We have an acre of yard, so it is used as a work vehicle towing a small cart behind it holding tools for whatever yard project is going on. I live in a small, one way in and out neighborhood so it is also a social vehicle used (illegally) on the road to visit neighbors. Cookie, our dog also expects an evening ride each night. I also bought a used walk behind leaf blower and adapted it to mount on the front of the golf cart similar to how a snowplow mounts on a pickup. In this photo the rear hubcaps are missing and the two cables that operate the throttle and leaf discharge position or the leaf blower from the seat of the golf cart are not completely hooked up. It only takes a minute or two to remove the blower or put it on and requires no tools to do so.

'On the blower' being an old fashioned, and mostly British, phrase for being on the telephone. Given the breeze in her hair I couldn't think of a better title. Enjoy!

I know this black and white is cut from many of the normal black and white groups because of the selective color left in, just wanted the hot glass to stand out!

This is a so called Blower Bentley of 1931. The Blower was a development of the orgininal Bentley 4 1/2 Litre and the main difference was the addition of a Roots-type supercharger to the Blower engine. The result was a car which set several speed records but couldn't convince in races as it was rather unreliable.
