I was more interested in her dog than her anyway.

Block 1 for the Camelot Quilt. It was so much fun to make! I am really looking forward to starting block 2!

Taken with this on 4th October - one of the things I like about using film is the wait for the results !

The East Block is the most intact of Parliament Hill's heritage buildings. It is also one of the world's finest examples of High Victorian Gothic architecture. The Government of Canada built the East Block in two major campaign periods. The first portion was completed in 1865, but is referred to as the 1867 Wing. A second wing was added in 1910. We last performed major work on the 1867 Wing in the 1970s. The East Block is now in need of restoration and modernization.

Either I need to get a bigger knife block...or I stop using the sword to cut carrots.

On Highway 71 just south of Highway 3 in Northwest Iowa. Block barns are few and far between in Iowa, and this one came with an old fashioned block corn crib and silo as a bonus!

I've been busy. All new designs. Check out the "Homer Simpson" donut at the bottom!

15.5" square block for Gretchen. Inspired by the beach. I used the freezer paper tutorial from Oh Fransson (map of the states block) to create this block.

For our March block, Lesly picked this cool Grandma's Flower Garden block, and sent us each the taupy linen for background. She also sent 5-6 fabrics of 2 specific color families, and we were able to alter the block as we liked as far as the piecing goes, as long as it maintained the same shape and the linen background strips were the same. I had so much fun figuring out what I wanted to do and picking out fabrics to add in. :)

BlueElephantStitches asked for blue, green and white fabrics with a "watery" feel. Her inspiration gallery echoed this idea.

The block is from Oh Fransson's Chopped Vegetables Pillows pattern. I used the third technique in the pattern and resized everything to make a 12.5" block.

The statue of the lifeboatman looking out to sea at the Nayland Rock commemorates the tragic capsize of the lifeboat 'Friend To All Nations' in December 1897, with the loss of nine lives. It appears to be overlooking another of Margate`s landmarks, the distib=nctive block of flats 'Arlington House'

Aiken, South Carolina

"Aiken is the most populous city in, and the county seat of, Aiken County, South Carolina, United States. According to 2020 census, the population was 32,025, making it the 15th-most populous city in South Carolina, and one of the two largest cities of the Central Savannah River Area.

Founded in 1835, Aiken was named after William Aiken, the president of the South Carolina Railroad. It became part of Aiken County when the county was formed in 1871. In the late 19th century, Aiken gained fame as a wintering spot for wealthy people from the Northeast. Thomas Hitchcock, Sr. and William C. Whitney established the Aiken Winter Colony. Over the years Aiken became a winter home for many notable people, including George H. Bostwick, James B. Eustis, Madeleine Astor, William Kissam Vanderbilt, Eugene Grace, president of Bethlehem Steel, Allan Pinkerton, and W. Averell Harriman.

Aiken is home to the University of South Carolina Aiken." (Wikipedia)

for Tamiko.... hope these are okay. They look a bit boring here but they actually are very pretty in person with all of the linen. Made six because one of the blocks ended up being a bit shy of 8 1/2 x 8 1/2. I'm hoping that once the paper is removed there will be enough play in the block to work but just in case I added a sixth block.

It wasn't that long ago was it when CSX segmented its mainlines into blocks, even if the route had block signals. A westbound CSX manifest freight approaches the crossing at Boyd in Greenwich, Ohio, with the former block signs in the foreground. The signs are no longer at this location and the blocks have apparently been dispensed with. (Scanned from a slide)

Visited a friend today and took the iphone up to the roof of her building two different times. The clouds were moving fast and the light changed wildly from moment to moment. Later I wondered why this elevator shaft had windows in it? Odd.
