This is our resident hedgehog collecting bedding for the hedgehog house that I built last year. I had built two, (one the previous year that it used), but this year it has taken a liking to the second house I built.
Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.
The raccoon (Procyon lotor) that normally dines on the seed cake feeder decided last night that he needed peanuts. What followed was some raccoon pole-dancing, until he finally succeeded in knocking the feeder off its hook.

Well, this time the bear took all the feeders. He scared himself and fell when he pulled the hook out of the eaves.
American black bear (Ursus americanus)
Not the best quality, as they were taken with a Blink camera, but I finally caught my feeder-stealer in the act!

My neighborly black bear (Ursus americanus) dropped by last night. It was his first visit since last summer.
these are the photos my 4 year old nephew took with a really small digital camera called a sipix blink. it fits in the palm of your hand! it only takes photos about 640x300 pixels though.
top row- his shadow, riverbirch tree, and himself
2nd row- front yard with my leg, grandpa "poppie" with his walker, and me taking a photo of him
3rd row- front yard looking across the street, driveway, and my desk with an ant toy
4th row- fire hydrant, hose, and his grandparent's porch
Another bear visit. After checking out the porch, he decided to try for the hanging feeder. I'm banging on the window at this point, and the dogs are going crazy, having seen the bear on the porch through the open door (with glass storm door closed).
American black bear (Ursus americanus)
Another bear visit. And this is what happens when I open the window and yell at him.
