So I met a great grandson today.. What an absolute sweetheart. The kind of person that makes you smile on the inside . I still feel after all of these years that I am fortunate to meet such incredible people and blessed to be able to share a part of SL with them.. ♥
that I got to see these great Barn Owls, life birds for me, after a really hard week. Thankful beyond words ...
The Guira Cuckoo is seen quite frequently in the Pantal , Brazil,. This one had been flying around when he finally decided to rest awhile among the yellow flowers giving me an opportunity for a few images. They are a beautiful bird and quite active. Often they are seen huddled together when it is cold and you can see this in a previous post.

This is the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (also known as the Christchurch Basilica) in February 2015. It was severely damaged by the earthquakes that struck Christchurch New Zealand in 2010 and 2011. At the time of writing (January 2018), the decision about whether to restore the Cathedral has not been finally taken. A photograph of the building before the earthquake hit is displayed in the foreground. Ubiquitous in earthquake-damaged Christchurch and serving various functions, shipping containers supporting the walls in this instance can be seen on the right.
To think I was blessed with such beauty 2 days before the New Year, and got nothing of that caliber this year while in the same place... Yikes.
Jai joined the army at age 13 and fought for the Government against the Khmer Rouge. He was shot between the eyes and the bullet lodged in his skull. He became a monk after the war. Now 61. I'm fortunate to have met him.
