I've done this location to death really, but the light was nice, and there was a brief moment when there was no-one in the way!

I know I posted a similar shot in 2010, actually I was hoping to get a cloudy sunset for this shot, unfortunately the clouds cleared out :-(
It has been quite chilly in Dubai these days, between 14 to 18 Celsius. I am not going to complain though :)

Those who walk the valley of Yosemite will find themselves encircled by towering granite walls that will leave their mind in awe. Cathedrals of stone are carved by nature, though much envied by worldly religions to replicate in grandeur. Some may find a certain inner peace, enlightenment or spiritual awareness while tilting their head skyward. The church of nature welcomes all who seek quiet contemplation, renewal of spirit, or a respite from the monotony of life.
Ringed Plover chick blending in amongst the rocks on the beach. When stationery they are very hard to spot either by me or a potential predator. A certain call from the parent would make them freeze like a statue.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA. I made a smaller copy of the original photo and dragged it on top of the original larger copy in PS as a layer. I reduced the opacity top layer to 50 % and moved the layer around until I got this converging pattern and changed the blending mode.
A slender, active unstreaked warbler with a long graduated tail that is sometimes cocked. It is mouse-brown above and pale below, with tawny flanks and a distinctive pale eyebrow.
Pairs and small groups patrol rank grass, riverine scrub, and thickets in savanna, where they are often on the ground or in the lower levels of vegetation.
The species sings a strident “stiiikk” note repeatedly 6-15 times before pausing, but it may sing incessantly for minutes, and it also has a tinnier “stip-stip-stip” call; tone and pitch vary geographically.
The similar Pale Prinia is more washed out with whitish flanks, and the very similar-looking River Prinia is local, restricted to riverine fringes in the Sahel, and has a sweeter higher-pitched song.

"The year leads round the seasons, in a choir
For ever charming, and for ever new,
Blending the grand, the beautiful, the gay,
The mournful, and the tender, in one strain..."

Buon lunedi

Had I not seen the motion of this white-throated sparrow, I'd never have noticed it at all, so well did it blend into its surroundings. Kittatinny Valley State Park - Sussex Branch Trail.

During the 1920s, Tokheim's pumps were seen everywhere in the United States. In 1920, the company introduced a pump with a lamp globe, a one-gallon blind curb-pump which was used extensively in front of drug stores and groceries. Within the same year, a sidewalk pump for lubricating oil was introduced, and one year later the company introduced an innovative five-gallon hand-operated pump unit that was designed for dispensing gasoline in a filling station or at the sidewalk. Uniquely engineered in many ways, this new pump provided greater delivery speed and more accurate measurement than any previous pump. This unit was the first pump to incorporate a completely enclosed quantity stop mechanism. Photo notes: The glass on this Tokheim pump is frosted due to the 26 degree Fahrenheit temperature on the morning this photo was taken.

Captured this with three RAW shots at -2..0..+2 EV. Digital blending in Photoshop CS6. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Topaz DeNoise to reduce noise. Topaz Clarity for boost in color and contrast.

-------------------------------------- Story --------------------------------------
You wanna hear a funny story that happen to me this morning.. ? I'll tell you.
I went out towards the paddocks looking for that mare right there, managed to be right in front of where she was supposed to be and... I couldn't found her ! So I was like "hmh.. maybe someone moved her in another field or brought her back inside the stable" so I've headed back into the Ranch, found my friend who was grooming one of our horses and I've asked him where she was. He looked at me like *are you sure everything is okay ?* he told me that she was in the paddock with the others and I've told him that I didn't saw her. I started to panic a little as we have some of our horses who are great escapers, but she's "normally" not one of them. We've headed back to the paddock together then he whistled for the mare.. She lifted her head from the back of the field and started to cantering towards us like, she was HERE and I didn't saw her ! My friend looked at me and laughed a bit asking if I needed glasses, so I've replied to him in a laugh that I might need some but with her coat color and the blanket we've put on her, it was really hard to catch her !
It's really well to play hide and seek in the snow, might put on a more flashy colored blanket next time !
