"If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;" If, by Rudyard Kipling. I've always found this poem inspiring, and the calm stance of the one finch beside the frenzied look of the other made me think of this line. In a parking lot at George Fox University in Newberg - spending time between my son's waterpolo matches.

2nd photo this week, with a non coorperative Dunkel. I have to say, I can't blame him! :-)

At last, my only MOC of the summer is complete. Of course you can't blame me: I've been in and out the whole summer with brickworld, camp, wyoming, new jersey, and up next is maine. But finally, using the time in between, I finished my largest Halo vehicle. And I am also proud to say that this is the only fully minifig scale pelican in existence at 26 inches long. The only real problem is that the wings are so heavy that they keep falling off without stands placed beneath them, but I'll fix that later. But, if they WERE fixed properly, than they could rotate, as the back engine flaps do. The passenger bay, like the actual pelican, can hole ten sitting passengers and five standing, in addition to the two pilots and whoever might be in the engineering station. The rear hatch does open and close, and the top can detach in order to access the interior.

ALSO, if anyone noticed there are two lengths of 2x2 round bricks on the bottom of the pelican. I'm interested to see how many people can guess how I made them, and how I attached them to the pelican.

England is having a mild wet Christmas time so an image from last February with a little snow. This garden ornament I know is of dubious taste; Mary feels I had a lapse of judgement when I bought it. However I rather like Ollie the Owl who sits in front of our sun house something in his face makes me smile. He is tough too and has survived a number of falls : I blame Mary she blames next doors cat.

Blue-faced Honeyeaters, as you would expect, have brilliant blue patches around their eyes. Juveniles have green/yellow patches which they must grow out of. This young bird, seen at Indigiscapes had a definite orange cast to the patches. Clearly thinks it is my mistake.

Off to Toronto on holiday. In terms of conceptual stuff, I might be a little quiet until mid august. However, I am still hoping to post my 365 stuff from my iPhone if I can get wireless access. See you soon!

I had a cute visitor the other day

For those who dont know Foster Blaine , he is an American poet at Poemhunter , who was not just critical about my poems but also of my being a poet. His remarks were racist, he felt only those who spoke English lived in America have a right to be called poets..

Well I dont blame him, knowing the overall attitude of American towards the sons of their soil the indegenous American Indians..I am only a Brown Indian ...during Moharam I become a Red Indian..

Some stone sculpted American women hearts would prefer to call me a Dead Indian..

I leave behind my verse to soothe their premature hopes and aspirations..

Blåmes Parus

Latinskt namn:

Parus caeruleus - vilket betyder, himmelsblå mes.

Typiska kännetecken:

12 cm.

...gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind.

To be happy, rest like a giant tree in the midst of them all.

Buddha
