France; Etang de Méouze (23), 15/7/19. Thanks to Bob Wardell for id.

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating and stay safe! ❤️❤️❤️

The title is a bit of a cliché, but I guess that photographing this location is also a cliché. I seem to have posted a few in the last few weeks. But then, what is a cliché. I suppose it is a subject matter which was once novel, engaging, interesting, clever, witty etc. But because of all these attributes, it has become all pervasive and ubiquitous. So now I feel better about posting this. Okay, so I have missed the boat I terms of novelty by a good year or two. But, boy, this location is all that It ever was. So there you go. I may be late. But [another cliché I suppose], better late than never. A great location is a great location. Whether I have done it justice, well, that’s another matter…

Thanks for all views, comments and favs. They are always much appreciated.

Lyrics:

I'm a little bit off today, something down inside me's different

Woke up a little off today, I can tell that something's wrong

I'm a little thrown off today, there's something going on inside me

I'm a little bit off today, a little bit off today

(I'm a little bit off today, a little bit off)

See, I'm a little bit off today, I cannot put my finger on it

Got up a little off today, just to play that same old song

I don't really wanna try today, I see nothing in my reflection

I'm a little bit dry today, feel like I could die today

Feel like I could die today

Hey yeah, hey yeah

Hey yeah, don't ya know? (I'm a little bit off)

Hey yeah, hey yeah

Hey, you gotta let it go (I'm a little, just a little bit off)

I'm a little pissed off today and there ain't nothing you can do about it

I'm a little put off today and I could not tell you why

Got a really short fuse today, everyone around me's fucking crazy

I'm a little ticked off today, a little pissed off today

(I'm a little bit off today)

I told a little white lie today, I smiled and told someone I loved them

I had to say goodbye today to someone that I love

I couldn't even cry today, I think my heart is finally broken

Didn't need a reason why today, I don't need a reason why today

Hey yeah, hey yeah

Hey yeah, don't ya know? (I'm a little bit off)

Hey yeah, hey yeah

Hey, you gotta let it go (I'm a little, just a little bit off)

I got a little too high today, got lost inside a sea of madness

Crashed a little bit hard today, crashed a little too hard today

Everybody sing

Hey yeah, hey yeah

Hey yeah, don't ya know? (I'm a little bit off)

Hey yeah, hey yeah

Hey, you gotta let it go (I'm a little, just a little bit off)

Hey, you gotta let it go (I'm a little, just a little bit off)

I'm a little bit off today

Something down inside me feels so different

Just a little bit off today

You can all fuck off today

A bit of light relief from the serious business of composition......

Class 37s (sorry, class 97s) 97303 and 97304 (the latter nearest the camera) head the previous day's 7.43pm Shrewsbury Coleham - Shrewsbury Coleham (3S71) rail-head treatment train away from Flint as it continues its long journey around Cheshire, Shropshire, and North Wales, etc.

I'd meticulously planned the approach shot to ensure I'd got the track aligned with the early morning sun, so helping capture a mucky but backlit spray. While that shot turned out ok, and will follow in due course, this was my first visit to Flint and I didn't expect to see the train crest an unexpected bump before seemingly heading beneath the surface as it disappeared towards Holyhead! It won the day, for humour if nothing else.

The RHTT was scheduled to land back in Shrewsbury for the final time at 4.32pm that day so bringing to an end one of the longest current workings in the schedule at around 21 hours. Of course it rests up at different spots, and takes on new supplies during the course of its journey, not to mention different train crew. I was expecting a pair of Grids so it was good to see a pair of Tractors doing the work - a nice surprise and they didn't half make a noise passing through the station, with the spray from the tanks only exceeded by the clag from the loco's exhausts - happy days!

Apologies if you were looking to see a full loco.....

after finding out quickly I had single shot set and not getting focus...It's almost like I have to learn this all over again,

Hope everyone is well.

short walk in Kadriorg park, Swan pond

Bit of a bust outing. Too dark, not much going on, no lights - until I turned around and saw this creepy lil number on the hill behind me.

Bit of an experiment in trying to get a sense of scale of the pink-feet as they flew in from the Wash. An awe-inspiring sight.

Press L - it does add to it.

The Eastern Osprey is a large, water-dependent bird of prey, distinctive in flight and when perched. Despite its wing-span of up to 1.7 m, it is noticeably smaller than the White-bellied Sea-eagle. In flight it can be recognised by its distinctly bowed wings that are dark brown above, and barred underneath, and with white underwing coverts. Perched, the upperparts are dark brown and the underparts are white. The female has a dark streaky collar. The head is mainly white with a blackish stripe through the eye.

Looking a little bit grumpy

Bit of macro Monday for me today.

I found this magnificent PCB at work a while back, freed from an old server destined for the scrapheap in the ground.

I seated my tilt adapter on the macro rings with the Helios 44-2 on that.

I love how the tilt adapter mixed with a macro setup and colour choice make this look like an industrial scene in the depths of winter. The small chips look like cars lined up in a carpark and the covering of dust simulates a harsh frost beautifully.

Single long exposure light art.

Catch you tomorrow.

Bit of flash experimentation with one of my favourite trinkets.

I think the cats are happy in Vernazza

Story behind: We are expecting heavy winds with whole gale in the gusts. Better to lay down the sign in a controlled way than let the storm do it uncontrolled.

This display presenting picture frame materials at the local crafts store caught my eye on Wednesday, 06 February 2019. That day the theme at We’re Here! was Mosaic!

Barnacle goose, Branta leucopsis, valkoposkihanhi, Finland.

Recreating mother nature with bits and pieces of summer flowers!

It's macro time, some screwdriver bits....

A bit of colour for a change. Something I would like to do more often in the future. This was shot as 181 second exposure from north side of Humber Bridge at sunrise. Let me know what you think :) Thank you all for looking and as always appreciate all of your support.

lots to sort out in this photo taken from Brighton Palace Pier, my first attempt to use Photoshop for panorama

A Lee Valley annual delight , the Bittern , but a little different .

A bit of brightness on a grey and windy day.

I love Ranunculus, densely layered, and this bloom opened beautifully, not always evident, their stems are extremely delicate and do tend to just collapse before the bud can open into a gorgeous voluptuous bloom...

For years I 'experimented' in the studio, to get that Flemish painter's light?

Well, I was born in Flanders, it must be in my blood? LOL.

With love to you and thanK you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

A bit like London buses; you wait ages for one, then two come along together!

Here we see a Spitfire Mk 1a leading a Mk Vc onto the Duxford grass. The Mk 1 type had been in service since 1937 and the Mk V which was essentially a Mk 1 with a more powerful engine, introduced late in 1940.

In this picture, we can see the difference between the 'a' wing on the leading Spitfire, which could carry 8 machine guns and the 'c' wing on the Mk V which could carry either 4 cannon, or 2 cannon and 4 machine guns. This one is configured for the latter.

Note also how the markings changed during the course of the war; the Mk 1 has the Dark Earth with Dark Green topsides camouflage pattern, whilst the Mk V shows the later scheme introduced after 1941 which replaced Dark Earth with Ocean Grey, which was found to be more effective. The Mk V also carries a couple of 'friend or foe' visual identification aids; a pale band around the fuselage immediately in front of the tail plane, and yellow wing leading edges, so the plane could be identified when seen head on.

Bit “soot and whitewash” I know - but I quite like the effect.

Bit of a blow out this morning.

Turned up, got this shot quite quickly. Then the heavens opened and it became clear very quickly that I was totally unprepared for it. Wet camera, wet lenses, wet filters and wet me.

To top the morning off as I was walking back to the car I dropped my camera on concrete. Surprisingly its mostly fine. A little dent/chip of paint lost. Certainly could have been much worse.

But anyway, at least I got one shot.
