Venus Anadyomene ("Venus Rising From the Sea") was one of the iconic representations of Aphrodite.
For Plato Venus had two different aspects: she was an earthly goddess who aroused humans to physical love or she was a heavenly goddess who inspired intellectual love in them. Plato further argued that contemplation of physical beauty allowed the mind to better understand spiritual beauty. So, looking at Venus, the most beautiful of goddesses, might at first raise a physical response in viewers which then lifted their minds towards the Creator.
Venus was the mother of the troyan prince Aeneas. In Roman mythology Venus, whom Julius Caesar had adopted as his protectress, was the ancestor of the Roman people by way of its legendary founder Aeneas and his son Iulus.
Minutes ago I became a great-grandmother for the second time. I keep waiting for all that afterbirth of wisdom, purportedly borne by my years and exposure outside the womb, to crown. Instead my water breaks and I sit in a pool of tears - arms, eyes, heart wide open, in awe of all the possibilities this new life brings. Welcome to this world of love, Ryder James Reynolds!

'Ma Vie' by Marc Chagall. The autobiography is illustrated with line drawings. This chapter tells of the birth of Chagall's daughter.
"Presque aussitôt après sa naissance, nous l'avons emportée a la campagne. Un nouveau-né ce n'est pas un vase fragile. Ma femme l'a emmitouflée de la tête jusqu'aux pieds afin qu'elle ne prenne pas froid."
Almost straightaway after she was born, we took her out to the countryside. A new-born baby is not like a fragile vase. My wife wrapped her up from head to toe so that she did not catch cold.
So that is the practical aspect of a new baby but the drawing, which introduces the chapter, gives a touch of humour:
Chagall, the new father, reclines on the bed.
Beside him, his newly born daughter extends her hand towards her father.
In turn Chagall holds out his hand to his wife, the newly-delivered mother, who is kindly bringing her husband a hot drink.
"Birth.
Slowly, we embrace the world and spread our wings, we realize why we are here and what our mission is. Once we grow up, we often think that the small child we used to be is lost, we think that we'll never see it again... But it is always here, with us. We need to look after, and cherish, this child, and try to always BE that child as much as possible. There is no such thing as growing up. There is only shapeshifting that makes it easier to understand who we are and why were are here.
* The white flowers represent innocence and learning. It spreads around the nest to show that we need to step our in order to get to know our world."
* The red dress signifies love, and it is there twice show it will protect her and always be next to her.

Allerdings gehören auch dunkle Aspekte dazu.

"Birth"
This is the first photograph of the nine photograph series I produced for my final A2 photography exam earlier this week. The whole 9 photos took about 7 hours to shoot on the day before my exam and I'm so happy with the way in which they turned out.
I based my photographs on Erik Erikkson's Psychosocial Development Stages, in which a healthily developing human should pass from infancy to late adulthood. In each stage, the person confronts, and hopefully masters, new challenges. Each stage builds upon the successful completion of earlier stages. The challenges of stages not successfully completed may be expected to reappear as problems in the future. I based these photos on the actual stages and not the positive or negative outcomes, which I'm thinking of basing my next project on
This first stage, however, I added in myself. I wanted to add in a photo before infancy to show how we are born in nature by nature. We are pure when we first enter this world and how we don't have any sort of materialistic possessions as of our birth.
Thank you so much to Oli and Chloe for helping me with this, otherwise I would've cried in my exam with no photos to edit whatsoever. So, hopefully this series actually gets me into university in the UK, which I'm absolutely terrified about because I havent moved to another country in like I0 years.

My son Aryan and his caring mom Seema have special relationship.
This is captured in a Mall with available light. I used my fav lens, Jupiter 85mm f2. The focus is little off, but I think that saved the pic. Not sharpened at all. Captured around f3. The lens is just horribly sharp.
An aphid gives birth and a tiny new life enters the world. Seen on a rose bush in our garden.
