For my birthday in mid September, I was sent a beautiful bright bouquet from a very lovely friend. It included a couple of bright yellow chrysanthemums.
Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. They are native to East Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China. Countless horticultural varieties and cultivars exist.

On December 12th, 1944, this booklet in the shape of a heart was offered to Fania, a prisoner of the Auschwitz Camp, on the occasion of her Birthday. She was 20 years old.
Made in secret with materials stolen or found around the camp, the heart brings together messages signed by 19 prisoners who risked their lives to create it. It represents the solidarity between these women, as well as their courage and the strength to stand their horrific situation.

Macro Mondays-Cloth
This pretty cloth flower is on a bag my sister bought me for my birthday that is at the end of October.
Or to be more exact, Ellie the Elephant Bank. Back in the day, piggy banks were all the rage, but one of my sisters decided I needed an Elephant Bank for my birthday. I expect the reason was to help remind me to save my earnings from my weekly chores.
Ever since then, Ellie has encouraged me to save those hard-earned pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, etc. And even though I'm now an adult, Ellie sits on my dresser, next to my jewelry box, still reminding me, ever so subtly each and every day that "A penny saved is a penny earned!"
I"m soon to have more, hopefully :)I want them all, I only need eight more, or nine more, or is it ten more... fuck I want them all!!!

Just realised I hadn't ever posted photo's of our little Derek (otherwise known as the avian terrorist) on here. He's been around a while now having arrived as the 80th birthday gift for my other half, from the grandkids. Total shocker of a gift but he's become a full on family member and has free rein of the house.. he does take himself back to his cage at bedtime. Anyhow - meet Derek.
These precious bears have come home with me, thanks to precious friends- Marce and Bonnie! They are two wonderful friends, like a sister and a daughter, that just happen to be two of Mom’s exceptional caregivers who are family to me! LoveYouBoth!!

so i finally get the all-systems-go signal from my lovely s-i-l, bahar (hubby's baby sister) and so i excitedly share my first official portrait session!
see, we've been playing this let's-pretend-we're-in-a-photo-shoot! game for a while now ( i love bahar set) and we're always amazed at how fabulously her photos turn-out. it helps, of course, that she's so dang gorgeous! (and kikay, too! HEE.)

This is a cat I saw on my way home from the groceristore close to my home.
The pictures is taken with my brand new Canon lense - a 50mm f/1.4 :) I got it yesterday from my parents as a birthdaygift. YAY for me! I'm so happy.
Too bad the weather is so crappy today. Clouds, grey and windy.
My knitting friends, sisters Sarah and Martha, sent me these two amazing and colorful yarns for my birthday. I love the colors, an indication that they both know me very well.
