Fogo-apagou, rolinha-cascavel ou rolinha-pedrês é o nome comum da Columbina squammata, uma ave columbídea monogâmica, granívora, que habita o centro-sul e o nordeste do Brasil.
As the sun was setting those colors looked beautiful,
I am in front of the waterfall looking at the birdhouse,
Soon they will be tenants there,
Free room and board for our feathered friends.
The Malabar trogon (Harpactes fasciatus) is found in the forests of Sri Lanka and peninsular India. They are insectivorous and although not migratory, may move seasonally in response to rain in hill forest regions. Like in other trogons, males and females vary in plumage.
A handsome little cock stonechat sitting on a fence post along the Cotswold Way footpath at the summit of Aggs Hill in Gloucestershire. This is the same bird I uploaded a shot of a few days ago looking very peeved in the rain!
These birds are not very popular as they lay eggs into the nests of other birds. I was taken aback by this individual and needed help from the Merlin App and the Macaulay images for identification. The plumage pattern is striking so thought it would be of interest to post here. Seen near Nutter's Battery, Central Park, New York

We've had a prolonged dry and hot spell locally, hence the lack of activity lately...... hopefully I'll get out again soon!!!
Have a wonderful day and week everyone!!!
Bathing Sparrowhawk photographed on my Bird Photography Tour in Serbia last May. Just two months til I'm back again!
This is one of my favourite images from my numerous visits to Serbia.
I just did a quick focus and shot. Didn't have time to adjust for exposure because it was gone as quickly as it came. Did not play with the color or anything like that. I reduced the brightness a bit and hit the color saturation a bit to bring out it's color.
