Inboard brakes, sugru on shifter by David Hayward

Wanted my brakes inboard for single finger braking, but the gear indicators made it a stretch.

I never looked at them anyway, and once I'd cut out enough for the brake levers to slide further out, Sugru was perfect for filling the holes left in the shifters to weatherproof them.

Continuing on the "bike mods" theme...our youngest son is obsessed with trailers and towing so I went all Mad Max with some scrap I had lying around and added a trailer hitch to his bike.

Those aluminum box ribs from the busted old patio umbrellas are proving to be intensely useful.

Next step is to build a trailer I guess.

Can't wait to play some Quidditch!!!! Just have to stain it, ''tattoo'' it, poly it, put fresh skins on the hoops(means putting new tyres and tubes on the wheels) and link up the steering, and i'm go for ''flight'' :D

Bikemod: easy to make mudflaps weighted down by pennies by juicyrai

To prevent road spray from soaking my shoes, I've extended the paltry stock mudflap on the SKS Race Blades with electrical tape.

I was aware of Alex Wetmore's solution of cutting out rubber gaskets, but felt like the Race Blades couldn't support a heavier material, so I opted for this cheap and quick fix. To prevent the lighter material from flying up, the flaps are weighed down with two pennies (though I'll probably more after further riding).
