A macro, monochrome shot of part of the chainset of my long neglected bike! It has been gathering dust in the garage due to a long series of injuries and illnesses.
Rusted chain on a BMX bike here at my brother's house. He has a bike track in the back yard and has get togethers with friends.
It's my bike chain taken between the derailleur and the rear cassette, or so my hubby tells me- I just ride it :)
Thanks for the views, faves and comments HMM
Bokeh bike chain. Experimenting with the 80mm macro lens. I like this lens. I just got it and it's a fun lens to work with and I'm still learning to use this macro lens. #bokeh #BikeChain #macro
A bike chain in macro with bokeh. Shot with wireless remote on tripod since the shutter speed was almost on bulb. #bokeh #BikeChain #macro #chain
Joining link on a bike chain. This is a gold coloured link on a silver chain, this makes it easy to see when you get back to the start of the chain when lubricating. If you have a gold chain use a silver link.

Average of three exposures: flash from flat left, flat right and top down.
I was just about to service my bike and fit a new chain, the old one had covered over 3500 miles which is a lot of pedalling by any standards. I thought the chain would make an interesting macro image so here it is.
What is it about this week?
I went out for a walk tonight feeling even more unenthused and uninspired than yesterday. Thankfully I did not feel this way for long. All sorts of red things presented themselves and my enthusiasm quickly returned!
I had several options in hand and was on my way home when I spotted a push bike parked on the street, it's red tyres, red chain and red helmet all instantly catching my eye! A very unique find I thought and worthy of my photo of the day!
Looks like it was fairly new too as it was pristine! Not only that it was quite difficult to shoot too because just behind it was an aluminium bench seat that was reflecting the sun like you wouldn't believe!
There are several of us working on a 365 project, and if you'd like to follow along, here are links to the others:
Outside the Icelandic Airline's port-side hotel stands three bikes in a bike rack, Not what it seems. Bikes are not for riding, actually an art piece - made from dockyard chains. Street photography. Street art. Iceland "pedaling" it's culture!
The Trailhead Coffee Roasters bike in action. Impresively this bike was ridden along the route and served coffee at some of the rest stops.
This bike was built by Portland's own MetroFiets.
