East Providence bike path at sunset.

Various bicycles from different outings in the past week...4 postings.

Seen yesterday on a walk with June Purkiss and Joe O'Malley in Brixton. We were looking for street art but this is one of my favourite shots of the day. I just like the mix of colours, red, yellow and blue.

I almost didn't notice this bicycle, but then the blue caught my eye. A bike? With blue wheels? It had to be photographed!

Found and photographed by Steven West on the back streets of Malabar Hill, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on August 2, 2015.

A very talented Bike Trick rider. He really was talented and certainly the best of the three young men practicing at this location.

This is the trike that goes with the biker belt.

Trudi worked at the nursing home and kept it spotless entirely unaided. I have no idea how she did it!

Myself, I subscribe to the saying

"Housework probably won't kill you, but why take the risk?".

Ok I'd had a drink and was lining up this shot when the woman on bike appeared out of nowhere.. it can get scary the speed of some of them!

When I was younger I loved THIS SONG and if you listen to it now, you will be humming it for days.

Melanie Anne Safka-Schekeryk (born February 3, 1947) is an American singer-songwriter.

Usually known professionally as Melanie, she is best known for her hits "Brand New Key", "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" and "What Have They Done To My Song Ma".

Melanie's search for enlightenment inspired her to go on a 27 day fast, during which she drank nothing but distilled water. Coming off the fast, she was eating transitional food when she felt the urge to get a McDonald's hamburger. On the way back to her house, she started to write the song.

In my mid-20s Melanies songs were just part of that era, however more than one person appears to think that "For a song written in 15 minutes it has very clever lyrics. "I ride my bike, I roller skate don't drive no car" is a clear reference to her virginity."

Obviously I was a bit naive because I never thought of that.

Here is my new bicycle on a sunny Saturday. Have you noticed how the price of bicycles has gone through the roof.

I retired the old girl which I bought in 1989 and it served me well, but the tyres (original) were worn through to the inner textile, and top gear was unusable because the cogs were worn. I waved goodbe to old faithful as I took possesion on this new sports machine with suspension, lighter weight and front and rear hdraulic disc brakes.

Since May, I have wanted to learn to do a "pan" shot. I saw a photo on Flickr that blew me away and I knew I wanted to try it. Well, I studied up on it and tried and tried but the thing just never came together but this week, the Bean and I got away for his birthday and we went to Playa del Rey. We spent a glorious few hours photoggin' and we were on this bridge with all these riders going by, it was the perfect practice place! I just had to try. It was one of those giddy moments, let me tell you.
