A close-up shot reveals a crumpled, purple juice carton, possibly a 'Limo' or 'Limona' brand, lying discarded amidst dry, golden-brown grass and some vibrant green plant stalks. The carton shows visible text fragments like 'Ungeöffnet' (unopened) and 'KIRS' (likely from 'Kirsch' - cherry), indicating it's a cherry-flavored beverage. The scene highlights environmental pollution in a natural setting, emphasizing the issue of litter.
This small bottle caught my eye at a yard sale yesterday. It was sitting on a table with a bunch of vintage soda bottles and Mason jars. I bought it, knowing nothing about "Orange Oodle" -- just thought the bottle -- which, as you might be able to tell from my windowsill photo, looks like two stacked oranges -- would make a neat vase. The bottle's made out of clear glass that's stippled, so the "oranges" have a texture that looks and feels like orange peel, and it's quite heavy for its size (5" tall). I included a penny in the photo to help provide scale. Anyway, both sides of the upper part of the bottle say -- in a cool, stylized script -- "Orange Oodle," and the lower part reads "Oodles of Oranges." If you have any info, tell me, because my Google search wasn't fruitful (ha!). :)
Other marks on the bottle are also embossed: on the bottom, "E6" and what looks like "J|M," and near the bottom ___ FL OZ (maybe 5 1/2 fluid ounces -- the number's hard to read).
April 15, 2013 update: Randy Ludacer of Beach Packaging found some information from 1907 about Orange Oodle.
