The only thing I enjoy more than falling asleep to the sound of rain, is the fun I can have with puddles the day after. I took this at Fort Baker this morning at 5:30 when the blue hues come out most in photographs. I met a little friend in the process that had come out for some much needed hydration. Poor animals must be suffering from this California drought.

The sandy beach at Koekohe is well-known for the Moeraki Boulders, which are large spherical boulders also called septarian concretions. These rocks can measure up to 3 meters in diameter and have cracks on their surfaces, giving them the appearance of dinosaur eggs. Interestingly, they are also hollow inside.

Tōtaranui beach is at the northern end of the Abel Tasman National Park. It's a great place to relax on the beach, swim, kayak, fish or explore native bush on one of the nearby tracks.
