I became inspired by the pomegranates and figs bought at the market and a couple of old Art books bought at the Bookfest.
Dedicated to my Dad who passed last summer. I miss him everyday, but an image like this brings back a lifetime of memories that I hold close to my heart.

This is a stretch of road out in Strasburg that calls my name when the storms inside rage. Honestly if I could find a house to plop out in the middle of that vast prairie I would. Sitting there I can close my eyes and hear the somber whispers of the wind. It is somber but there is no reproach. Instead the wind flows soothingly over and around me til the storms began to quiet down much like a fussing infant that finally drifts to sleep. The clouds come and go and although time passes it's as if it has stood quietly next to me watching itself in another life. I've never followed this road to the end, surprisingly I have no idea where it goes! But I'm ok with that for now, as the old quote goes in my own words of course, it's not the destination that matters only the steps we take to get there.
This is one of my favorite verses in the bible. It says, "Be still, and know that I am God." When you study the original intent of the psalmist, King David, the command to 'Be still' actually means, take a vacation. It entails r&r, rest and relaxation. When we are going through difficult times, the tendency is to try to solve our problems with our own wisdom and limited knowledge. But the best thing we can do is relax! Put our hope and trust in God. He knows what He's doing. Sometimes you just gotta teak a break, take a vacation and let God be God. People often take their work with them when they go on vacation. Not me. This trip, I'm not going to worry, I'm going to enjoy my time visiting my homeland and my family. I can't wait!
This is the time of year that all I hear around me is complaints about the cold weather. I happen to have no complaints! I LOVE this time of year. I love that the seasons change, and I love getting out to see the changes.
Hope you are all doing well. Thanks for your continued support and visits. We are listing my mom's home for sale tomorrow. She lived to be 88 years old and was one who didn't look forward to spending another cold winter in Idaho. I took this picture right after taking images of her home. It's a great fixer upper if anyone is interested in coming to Idaho!
On a serious note, mom's no longer cold, she's at peace, and I find comfort in that, and in knowing she can now be near me and won't feel the cold. She'll just enjoy the beauty all around us. Be Still.......she's there.

Confession- I used one ordinary teabag to colour the hot water because I prefer milk in my tea :-)
