The Downy Woodpeckers are a regular at our feeders. And during our Harvest Fest for our backyard visitors, it was good to see them, like this male, make repeated visits to several of the suet feeders.
They also enjoy the seed logs and nut logs, but the suet, and especially this feeder, seems to be their favorite.

I decided to exercise the old Zeiss Biogon 21mm f4.5. It is a Contax Rf mount, but the small "focus shift" between Contax and Nikon Rf;s is absorbed by the f4.5 maximum aperture. The Biogon formula still is one of the best for rectilinear rendition - only surpassed by the M mount Zeiss C Biogon 21mm f4.5.
This is also with the Fomapan Retro 320 - and here it looks right. Grainy, a bit contrasty - looks like early 60's "soot and chalk".

So when Flickr friends Clive and Rosey stayed I thought this would be a good time to try Paladar,s Fumior Salon and experience some of that famous Cuban coffee but since I and Clive dont smoke we will have to pass on them cigars , so within the listed opening hours it was a pleasure to see the open sign displayed on the front door . Ah at last lets go in ....
