Come sit beside me I said to myself
And although it doesn't make sense
I held my own hand as a small sign of trust
And together I sat on the fence
......Michael Leunig......
Don't walk in front of me,
I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me,
I may not lead.
Just walk beside me
and be my friend.
- Albert Camus
Oh no, tonight I find it hard to swallow
The bed is made and I feel hollow
My friends suggest that I should take it slow
I took it slow
I sweat it out, I'm not okay, I'm shaking on the floor
I lay awake and I count the days and I wait beside the door
For love, I only want you next to me
Sweet love, how long before you hurt for me?
Hurt for me, do you hurt for me?
Blackout the night before inside of my mouth
Too much it's what I like to do now
My mind explodes and I can't make it out
I'm falling down
I see your face in blurry shades and I reach out for your hand
All your ways I can't explain but I want to understand
My love, I only want you next to me
Sweet love, how long before you hurt for me?
Hurt for me, do you hurt for me?
I sedate my mind with hope of your return
Just enough to weigh me down
I can fake my heart and I love to watch it burn
But it knows you ain't around
My love, I only want you next to me
Sweet love, how long before you hurt for me?
Hurt for me, will you hurt for me?

SYML - Hurt For Me
While You Were Dreaming
Have a great weekend my friends :)
While you were dreaming,
I gazed upon your brow,
Tucked away from cold of night,
You're lay beside me now,
And as we lie and rest our heads,
On pillows of purest white,
The moon smiled through the window,
And softly bathed you in its light.

Beside Still Waters..
A couple of weeks back we packed up and headed for a local park, hiking deep into the woods.
The water was calm but the skies were turbulent. the threat of rain hung over us in a dark foreboding cloud filled sky.
the contrast in the scene was wonderful and made for a great photograph. I hope you agree.

stopped to photograph this lookout many years ago and vaguely remembered that it would be a suitable sunrise location so with the car packed and warm coffee’s ready we left Calgary at 5am and began the drive with the aim of entering Jasper National Park and making it to this point in the drive ready for the 8:39am sunrise.
The temperature was below -30 and I wasn’t looking forward to trudging through a few feet of snow but with the colours in the sky beginning to show their intentions I wasn’t going to miss out.
Driving the Icefields Parkway is a truly awe inspiring Rocky Mountain experience and is wildly regarded as one of the most scenic drives in the world. Whilst passing through sweeping valleys flanked by mountains so impossibly high you literally have trouble seeing their peaks it’s easy to understand how this 232km drive is so highly regarded.

Beside The Frozen Creek...
Karen and I took a day trip to Jack Darling park venturing into the Rattray Marsh Protected Wetlands. the marsh has a mile and a half of railed boardwalk that meanders its way through the marsh; giving visitors an unobstructed view of the area and yet protecting the flora and fauna from being trampled.
This is a shot of a section of the boardwalk that runs parallel to Sheridan Creek that feeds lake Ontario. (HFF)

When this outfit from CandyDoll was posted on Flickr I knew I had to have it, and it’s as gorgeous as I hoped it would be. Just beware though, it’s advertised as a dress but it’s VERY short (!), so either wear it with some jeans or invest in a discrete pair of panties to wear underneath 😊

Quite a rare car parked beside me in a supermarket parking lot. The Morgan Plus 4 is an automobile produced by the Morgan Motor Company. Plus 4 production ran from 1950 to 1969. Only about 4500 were produced in 19 years.

Living on the coast I do spend quite a bit of time by the sea when I can, at low tide the pools are filled with life it's fascinating to see the variety and catch a few pictures when you can love to see the symbiotic relationships of species and of course the simple beauty of nature.

Dipper - Cinclus Cinclus
aka Water Ouzel
Dippers are members of the genus Cinclus in the bird family Cinclidae, named for their bobbing or dipping movements. They are unique among passerines for their ability to dive and swim underwater.
They have a characteristic bobbing motion when perched beside the water, giving them their name. While under water, they are covered by a thin, silvery film of air, due to small bubbles being trapped on the surface of the plumage.
Dippers are found in suitable freshwater habitats in the highlands of the Americas, Europe and Asia. In Africa they are only found in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They inhabit the banks of fast-moving upland rivers with cold, clear waters, though, outside the breeding season, they may visit lake shores and sea coasts.
The high haemoglobin concentration in their blood gives them a capacity to store oxygen greater than that of other birds, allowing them to remain underwater for thirty seconds or more, whilst their basal metabolic rate is approximately one-third slower than typical terrestrial passerines of similar mass. One small population wintering at a hot spring in Suntar-Khayata Mountains of Siberia feeds underwater when air temperatures drop below −55 °C (−67 °F).
Dippers are completely dependent on fast-flowing rivers with clear water, accessible food and secure nest-sites. They may be threatened by anything that affects these needs such as water pollution, acidification and turbidity caused by erosion. River regulation through the creation of dams and reservoirs, as well as channelization, can degrade and destroy dipper habitat.
Dippers are also sometimes hunted or otherwise persecuted by humans for various reasons. The Cyprus race of the white-throated dipper is extinct. In the Atlas Mountains dippers are claimed to have aphrodisiacal properties. In parts of Scotland and Germany, until the beginning of the 20th century, bounties were paid for killing dippers because of a misguided perception that they were detrimental to fish stocks through predation on the eggs and fry of salmonids.
