Thanks so much for your time♡♡(*•̀ᴗ•́)♡
Many thanks to you!
Yesterday night, the light was just epic. I got lucky because the cloud cover obscured the sun almost the all day ! I took the opportunity to try to play with the reflection, on the ocean.
The kind of winter sunset I like to admire and to feel entirely... to touch this sensation, this perception of Life... Being in total harmony inside your mind and body for a few minutes ... The meditation begin there.
"Every day it comes to this
Catch the things you might have missed
You say, get back to yesterday
I ain't ever going back
Back to the place that I can't stand ...
...Catch the sun, before it's gone
Here it comes, up in smoke and gone
Catch the sun, it never comes
Cry in the sand, lost in the fire..."
~Doves, "Catch the Sun"

Seeing all these special hand-painted stones reminded me of a wonderful book I read called “Simple Ways” by Gunilla Norris. I imagine whoever painted these held the stones for awhile, appreciating the shapes, listening to them, spending time with them, walking with them, feeling them, and adding their own special energy to the stones on this big rock I saw at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California. They seemed like jewels, as do the delicate blue flowers on the field of green. The stones became more real, more alive, because of who spent time with them and appreciated them, kind of like the Velveteen Rabbit becoming real through the love of a child.
“We pick up shells and stones on the beach because something about them is pleasing. We leave them on our shelves and windowsills to touch now and then and to enjoy again. But to make something a real presence in our lives we must use it often and get to know it intimately.
Many people have used rosary beads, mala beads, ankhs and crosses, amulets and crystals, as objects of significance. If we are not drawn to a specifically religious object, perhaps a little, ordinary stone will do...
Meditation
A little stone grows warm in our hands.
The moisture from our skin makes it glisten,
just as any loving touch makes what is touched
glisten with life.
We hold it in prayer like an anchor,
to keep our thoughts from drifting away...”
—Gunilla Norris, “Simple Ways”
"Never believe that the so-called random events of life are anything less than God’s appointed order. Be ready to discover His divine designs anywhere and everywhere." ~Chambers
i have been thinking about the future, lately. i'm not usually prone to thinking this way, it might just be this season of life. i don't really like dwelling on this kind of thinking, if it's in a negative way, but if it's positive thinking, then the sky is the limit.
however, when i came across this quote, it was such a reminder to be "aware" of all the moments that surround me. what divine design is awaiting me? not in the "future" but in the next few moments?
Happy Future~InTheMoment~Friday Everyone!

The yoga apparel company that Devon is wearing ended up using one of my shots from our previous shoot in one of their advertisements. They asked us to do more work for them, so this weekend I went up to Harrisonburg, VA to shoot Devon, once again. For the third time in a row I love how the set came out.

There is not a stream of badness and a stream of goodness, or sickness or wellness. There is only a Stream of Well-being. The question that you're wanting to ask yourself is, "In this moment, am I letting it in or not? Am I allowing it or am I not?"

We Are In Transit
Poem
We step forward.
Each step stirs dust into the air.
The dry, shifting evening air.
The sun is neither fully risen nor a witness.
A silent guardian.
Beginnings and endings, both here and just.
At this hour.
And yet shared.
This is where time unravels.
Where place dissolves and where movement lingers without.
No words, no destination.
This is the place.
This is the sacred space.
Each step cannot ignore faith.
Where time unravels.
Where movement lingers without end.
A witness, a silent guardian.
Beginnings and endings.
Both here in distance.
The burden we carry is more than we thought.
It is more than it is more than distance.
It's the stories waiting to be uncovered.
And the bond we strengthen along the way.
Unanswered questions.
Deferred dreams.
The hope, the hope of arrival, leads us forward.
At this threshold, we are neither lost nor found.
We walk in the in-between.
Each step whispers.
Here we are.
Here we are in the middle, in the middle and transit towards our becoming.

Thank you each and every one of you for making my life richer, with more laughter, tears, truth and beauty....I feel truly blessed to be a part of this community.
I've been too scattered the last few weeks to play along in so many of the groups here, so I wanted to make sure and take time to show a taste of what makes me smile, here....there are so many more :)
Peace

It is easy to see a place and move on to the next item on the itinerary, but these experiences can be fleeting and not register on the subconscious. One of my goals being overseas this summer as part of the UW in Scotland cohort was to take the time to be fully present in the places that I visited. To support this goal I took many, many pictures during my 18-day trip. Many of the photos were of small details of what I called “textures” on my social media posts documenting my travels. These textures were moments that captured an essence of a location or an ephemeral feeling that I may have missed if I hadn’t been looking. In this photo of a sculpture in the gardens at Abbotsford, I was only able to see it because I stopped and turned around to look at the sculpture from another angle. This sums up my experience of being abroad. Take the time to be present, to “see” from multiple perspectives. You don’t know what you might bring home with you. The photos I took all have deeper meaning to me because I was fully present when taking them.
