This is my 4th Disney character. loved every bit of making her. now i need to make gaston to finish the scene. keeping to the specific style was tough. kept slipping back into old ways. now off to build gaston. listened to the beauty and the beast soundtrack to get this built.

The Moonflower or tropical white morning-glory (pomoea alba) is a species of night-blooming morning glory, native to tropical and subtropical regions of the New World, from northern Argentina north to Mexico and Florida. It is a perennial, herbaceous liana growing to a height of 5–30 m tall with twining stems.
The leaves are entire or three-lobed, 5-15 cm long, with a 5-20 cm long stem. The flowers are fragrant, white or pink, and large, 8-14 cm diameter. The flowers open quickly in the evening and last through the night, remaining open until touched by the morning sun. On overcast days, the flowers may remain open for longer. The flowers also tend to remain open longer during cool temperatures, which may also cause the segments to snag or tear as they open.

De maanbloem (Ipomoea alba) is een plant uit de windefamilie.
De plant komt uit de tropische en subtropische gebieden van de Nieuwe Wereld; van het noorden van Argentinië tot in Mexico en Florida. De soort wordt daar vaak als onkruid beschouwd.
Het is een meerjarige, kruidachtige liaan groeiende tot een hoogte van 5 à 30 meter; vaak met kleine knolachtige uitwassen.
De bladeren zijn 5 à 15 cm rond tot hartvormig met een spitse punt.
De maanbloem bloeit in de zomer en nazomer.
De bloemen gaan 's-avonds al vroeg open en blijven dat de hele nacht. Tijdens bewolkte en koele dagen zijn de bloemen meestal ook overdag open.
De schotelvormige bloemen zijn wit, soms wat roze, aan de binnenkant, aan de buitenkant groenig en 7,5 à 14 cm breed.
De bestuiving wordt vaak gedaan door nachtvlinders met een lange roltong.

A little out of step with my previous few posts, but a flying thing nonetheless. We made a visit to IWM Duxford on our way home from Norfolk and were incredibly lucky to have picked a day when this grand lady was off on her travels to the Battle of Britain Airshow down in Kent, so we saw her prepping for take off and then taking to the skies. Always a treat to see the Sally B (aka Memphis Belle) at work.
