So it begins

But soon I will be released

But not from my vow

I will always be here

For you to find

If you care to open your heart

Wide enough

To let such love inside

So it begins

With my blood and tears

The sweat of my endurance

But this is all for you

For that day when you need me

When it is hard to be alone

Fear binding you to earth

Trapping you below

So it begins now

Walk with me to freedom

Let us open the doors

To the welcoming light

And the new dawn

Leave our ties behind us

Break all your bonds

No need to return

Let the Light find you, as Easter brings us new life, let the Light find you in the dark.

After winter snow, sleet and frost - the thaw begins.

It's shortly after 8:30 and the Central Indiana & Western is already hard at work. With switching complete, the crew ahs gathered 18 empty sand hoppers from the glass plant and will begin its 90-minute, 9-mile trek to the CSX interchange in Anderson, IN.

Well, I think it’s time to begin with posting several images I made during my stay in Asturias (Spain) some weeks ago. I made this shot here at a very iconic beach called „Gueirua“ one rainy afternoon. A single long exposure shot which I found very difficult to make as I was cleaning the lenses all the time due to the rain! And more it was not so comfortable to stay balanced over the rocks and stones during a heavy wind and rain, cleaning all the time the lenses and at the same time trying not to fall into the sea with all my equipment :-) But it was so rewarding to be there and I could’t care less about the weather … I was so happy to finally, finally, finally to see the sea again after so much time as I have no sea in my country :-)

I did get a great deal of pictures that one afternoon on the beach.

I am not a beach or water person. I love being near it but I don't swim and really don't want to splash around. I was thankful it was overcast as I don't like a hot beating sun on me either.

So my journey was filled with pictures.

Lyrics from „The day begins“, The Moody Blues:

Cold hearted orb that rules the night,

Removes the colours from our sight.

Red is grey and yellow white,

But we decide which is right,

And which is an illusion.

Pinprick holes in a colourless sky,

Let insipid figures of light pass by,

The mighty light of ten thousand suns,

Challenges infinity and is soon gone.

Night time, to some a brief interlude,

To others the fear of solitude.

Brave Helios wake up your steeds,

Bring the warmth the countryside needs.

This weeks Macro Monday theme is "Begins with the Letter P". Prism covers that nicely.

This photo was taken in my workshop, the only place I could set up the conditions needed to illustrate the refractive properties of the prism. Unfortunately it is very dusty there, and the inexpensive acrylic prism was like a small dust magnet. But you get the point.

The Letter M - My name is Mike, so my theme for this week is "Begins With The Letter M." I thought about doing something elaborate like I did with "Begins With The Letter P" theme, but opted to keep it simple instead. I know the Flickr crowd loves colorful bokeh, so Marbles made the most sense. HMM

"Often I have found that the one thing that can save is the thing which appears most to threaten. One has to go down into what most fears and in that process comes a saving flicker of light and energy that, even if it does not produce the courage of a hero, at any rate enables a trambling mortal to take one step further."

Good riddance to 2021, the worst year of my lifetime. I wish 2022 is a happier year for everyone. Stay safe and healthy.

2026 begins with a shot of the full moon rising next to Christchurch Priory.

The whole harbour was bathed in glorious pink hues after the sun set. That alone was worth going out for even without the moon.
