In 1998, he saw the first graffiti appear in his neighborhood: the features of Jerry Batista, now his friend, and Alexandre Niggaz, who died drowned in the Billings Dam in 2003 at the age of 21. The works inspired him to start his own career, first painting the street from home, then the neighboring roads. What was a boy's joke became a fundamental part of his life. Today, besides dividing between screens and walls, he is one of the partners of an urban art gallery in Vila Madalena, the A7ma.
What makes it different and cannot be seen from above is that every single wall in its 100m (328 ft.) extension is covered top-to-bottom with graffiti of all shapes and colours.
The graffiti here are not the average large-letter tags, although there is a lot of that.
Batman's Alley or Beco do Batman, in Portuguese, resembles more an open-air street art gallery, where abstract, surreal, psychedelic and geometric paintings colourfully co-exist.

Em 1998, viu os primeiros grafites surgirem em seu bairro: os traços de Jerry Batista, hoje seu amigo, e Alexandre Niggaz, que morreu afogado na Represa Billings em 2003, aos 21 anos. Os trabalhos o inspiraram a começar a própria carreira, primeiro pintando a rua de casa, depois as vias vizinhas. O que era brincadeira de menino virou parte fundamental de sua vida. Hoje, além de se dividir entre telas e paredes, ele é um dos sócios de uma galeria de arte urbana na Vila Madalena, a A7ma.
Beco do Batman (English: Batman's Alley) is the nickname for the area around Rua Gonçalo Afonso and Rua Medeiros de Albuquerque in the Vila Madalena neighborhood of São Paulo. Beco do Batman is a popular tourist destination because of the dense concentration of graffiti that line the streets.
The nickname for the area is attributed to a graffito of the DC Comics character Batman which was painted on one of the walls in the 1980s. Local art students began filling the walls with other psychedelic and cubist influenced designs.
Have you seen an image of Pelé hugging some famous in the streets? It is the "Pele Beijoqueiro", a series of lambe-lambs by the artist Luis Bueno, 35, from São Paulo, present in walls and walls of several cities in Brazil.

Bueno has already put Pelé next to the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci; characters from the "Star Wars" franchise; the painter Salvador Dalí and even the singer David Bowie, the biggest assembly of the series.
The lamb-lambes, artistic technique of assembly and collage, were inspired by a photo of Pelé embracing Muhammad Ali in 1977, in the United States.
"I fell in love with the image, which brought this gesture of affection and affection of a great symbol of Brazil that is Pelé. Immediately I realized that I could reconstruct the image and enjoy the gesture of the kiss, replacing Muhammad with other people," said Bueno, in an interview with Batanga.
The works are produced in stages. The artist took the photo and started a digital painting process that took months to get ready. Then it is scaled, separated into several parts for printing and cut manually. "Many pieces in the series are hand-painted too, which would be a fourth step," he says.
There is a significant graffiti tradition in South America, especially in Brazil. Within Brazil, São Paulo is a significant centre of inspiration for many graffiti artists worldwide.
Tristan Manco wrote that Brazil "boasts a unique and particularly rich, graffiti scene ... [earning] it an international reputation as the place to go for artistic inspiration." Graffiti "flourishes in every conceivable space in Brazil's cities." Artistic parallels "are often drawn between the energy of São Paulo today and 1970s New York." The "sprawling metropolis," of São Paulo has "become the new shrine to graffiti;" Manco alludes to "poverty and unemployment ... [and] the epic struggles and conditions of the country's marginalised peoples," and to "Brazil's chronic poverty," as the main engines that "have fuelled a vibrant graffiti culture." In world terms, Brazil has "one of the most uneven distributions of income. Laws and taxes change frequently." Such factors, Manco argues, contribute to a very fluid society, riven with those economic divisions and social tensions that underpin and feed the "folkloric vandalism and an urban sport for the disenfranchised," that is South American graffiti art.
Prominent Brazilian graffiti artists include Os Gêmeos, Boleta, Nunca, Nina, Speto, Tikka, and T.Freak. Their artistic success and involvement in commercial design ventures has highlighted divisions within the Brazilian graffiti community between adherents of the cruder transgressive form of pichação and the more conventionally artistic values of the practitioners of grafite.

Speto, as Paulo Cesar Silva is known, is an artist, illustrator and one of the main names of graffiti in Brazil. He was one of the precursors of this artistic manifestation in the country and already had, since childhood, the ability to draw, when illustrating skateboarding shapes, a sport that he practiced on the streets of São Paulo. Speto's interest in graffiti arose in the 1980s, when at the age of 14 he watched the movie "Beat Steet" at the movies and eventually bought his first spray to color the city walls, inspired by one of the characters in the film.

This place is called "Batman's Alley" and it's an alleyway full of street art. It was so crowded today that this was the only picture I could take without people in the frame. Also my car broke and the tow truck got there so fast (so unlikely) that I only had 5 minutes to shoot. I'll try again sometime as this place is very interesting.
