Please be kind. It costs nothing.

Of course I'm always nice...mostly ;)

Oyster Catcher could not keep his emotions in check when he discovered an oyster while wading in low tide.

Broccoli, one of the most healthiest food ever was my choice for this theme #vegetables on Macro Mondays today. (I added a clove of garlic in the background as it is healthy as well).

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

You can't necessarily know it, or see it.

Just be kind. It's easy.

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we are beautiful, no so much skin wise but inside. I know I am, despite all that life has thrown at me both mentally, physically and emotionally--I still try to find the beauty in life, the good in people and laugh as much as I can.

Someone said, our Past is just that, Our Future is unknown but the now is a gift and that is why it is called the Present.

Make the most of it

Hi everyone

It's been such a surreal week that I don't even know where to start. In the UK we've gone from relative normality to a life very far removed from what we are used to, in what feels like a very short space of time. Like many other countries we now have schools closed, pubs and restaurants closed, and lots of home working going on. We are practising 'social distancing' and people are struggling to buy provisions as panic and stockpiling set in. People are separated from their loved ones and are worried for the future. I'll use the word again- surreal.

Despite feeling very anxious about the whole situation, I consider myself fortunate at the moment. I'm able to work from home and if I get sick, my employer will pay me. But I feel so bad for those who are not so lucky, those who are worried about their jobs or have even already lost them. This photo is dedicated to those people, and also to the amazing group of people who are continuing to keep the country going- medical staff, carers, shop workers, public services and many more unsung heroes.

Here's hoping that the next time the Magnolia tree blooms, this crazy time will be a distant memory. Keep safe and well friends, and let's look after each other.

#Yellow

Width of the frame: 6,5 cm / 2,5 inches

When Yellow Mouse got up from her soft bed of garden flowers (others would call it weed, but hey, she hadn't smoked in years!), lured outside by a wonderful, savoury smell, humming Cat McKenzie's old but gold Yippie song to herself, "If you're going to San Mouseciso, be sure to wear some weed..." No, wait, those weren't the exact lyrics. So what, that smell was overpowering. And there it was, her huge, delicious breakfast piece of Swiss cheese. At other times, she would have been nervous, always double-checking that resident cat Jim wasn't anywhere near, ready to pounce and do what he'd call "morning exercise with mouse". Jim was alright, in his slightly weird "Jim way", but she strictly refused to do anything that came even remotely close to a workout before breakfast, let alone one that would have her twirled and tossed around by Jim, who, quite inefficiently, tried to assure her that "It's good for your poise!" She didn't need more poise, she had poise in abundance. But ever since Jim had taken on an enormous liking to homemade lasagna, and upon which he had declared: "Live and let live!", her days had gotten so relaxed and peaceful that it was almost too good to be true. Au contraire, these days it was barn dog Yellow Dog who tried to chase Jim around. Yellow Dog complained that Jim had gotten so lazy, "lasagna lazy" as he would call it. As Yellow Mouse set about to enjoy her breakfast, she heard, from a distance, some inviting barking ("Let's go Jim, it's time for our workout!"), followed by a harried caterwaul ("Leemeelone, I want lasagnaaaaa!"). Yellow mouse sighed happily. Life was good :-)

The yellow mouse has been with me since childhood. It once had a purple sibling, but that got lost at one point. The glass mouse is filled with a yellow liquid that shines beautifully in the sunshine (and would have been a nice subject for last week's shadow theme, as I realise now). The flowers I've picked from a front garden around the corner, and the cheese, in case you wondered, was delicious ;-) In-camera focus stacked image, only minimally post-edited in Lightroom, were I slightly increased the luminance and saturation of the yellow, and in Luminar 4, where I slightly enhanced the details (small) on the mouse, cheese and flowers.

If you'd like to get to know resident cat Jim (thank you for the Jimspiration, dear ironicdream!, and also Yellow Dog, please check the second comment :-) HMM, Everyone, stay safe, stay healthy, and take care!

Thanks for visiting, enjoy each day and #BeKind

We often wait for kindness, why not begin with being kind to yourself first =) Happy new week my friends!

My grandson and I walked up the curved path that led to an area above the Mimico Waterfront Deck so we could get this view.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy each day, don’t take anything for granted in this pandemic. #BeKind
