I shot I took down in the Lower Battery early this morning, showing the narrows of St. John's harbour. St. John's, Newfoundland.

Over the holidays, I built a UV exposure box so I could print cyanotypes whenever I wanted to, not just when the sun is out. I tried it for the first time this morning with this photo, shot on an 8x10 J. Lane dry plate in 2020 with my Intrepid 8x10. I'd say it works pretty well. This is about a 25 minute exposure in the box.

A tale about mini UFOs

Machine Robot: A fabulous metal toy with original box. Works perfectly. This is a peaceful robot too; no guns or weapons. Made in Japan. Batteries not included.

The Dublin Bus diesel electric hybrid bus, WH 1.

Delivered to Dublin Bus in October 2008, this DAF / Gemini powered by Siemens technology batteries originally with a Ford Puma car engine was a step towards alternative energy.

WH 1 has been operating on route 16 between Santry & Ballinteer with some peak workings on route 20B from Beaumont.

10 years later & hybrid buses are now been ordered as standard, with a shift towards fully electric buses in the near future.

Yep, the title was inspired by Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise.

Back when I was younger, I remember this song for the movie Dangerous Minds, but with the advent of that Sonic the Hedgehog the movie trailer being released just a day ago, younger kids will remember that song for that Sonic movie. LOL Almost sad that way...

Truth be told, when I was younger, I was more of a Nintendo guy (before going to Sony and then finally finding a home with PC gaming) than a Sega guy, but the way they designed that Sonic for the movie... is... the... stuff... of nightmares.

Anyways! I digress! This is about the pup! Not Sonic!

I had a short vacation with my family in Pangasinan, where we get to visit my grandmother (lovingly named Inang) from my mother side. It was also their town fiesta and my mom's high school reunion. It so happened that a few of her siblings also visited from the States, so it was also a mini family reunion for all of us (though I still suffer from social anxiety, so I hardly talked, or if I did, very awkwardly lol).

Wanted to do my usual street photography, but ironically, even with the fiesta, there wasn't so much action on the streets on that time I went out to photograph - guess it didn't help that it rained heavily an hour before I went out.

So, I made due with a few shots I got when I explored the nearby plaza and around my Inang's home and neighborhood, starting with this puppy!

Hi, make this battery with three lemons, and it worked :D Taken with my Sony a6300 and my cheap vintange lens Minolta MC Rokkor f1.7 50mm

I was going to photograph a safety pin today, and then I tripped over a bag of batteries. I have no idea why we have a bag of dead batteries, but they looked okay when I photographed them.

Battery Way - Work on setting up of Battery Way started in 1904 and it was completed in 1914 at a cost of $112,969. It was named in honor of 2nd Lieutenant Henry N. Way of the 4th U.S. Artillery who died in service in the Philippines in 1900. Armed with four 12-inch mortars, it was capable of lobbing a 1000-lb deck piercing shell or 700 lb high explosive shell 14,610 yards in any direction. This gun emplacement was equipped with anti-personnel firepower. It was designed to penetrate the thin deck armor of warships and against any enemy entrenched on higher grounds in Bataan. Its firing elevation was from 45 degrees minimum to 70 degrees maximum. The length of its rifled bore is 10 ft. To fire each mortar, a standard crew consisting of 14 men were needed. Three of the serviceable mortars opened fire on April 28, 1942 and on May 2, 1942. After the 12 hours of continuous firing, the remaining mortar finally frose tight on May 6, 1942. It was the last of Corregidor's "concrete artillery" to cease firing before the surrender of Bataan.

“A Prayer In Spring“

Robert Frost

"Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;

And give us not to think so far away

As the uncertain harvest; keep us here

All simply in the springing of the year."

This bunker once held two guns on steam elevators. When this proved to be impractical, the guns were removed and this became the fire control center.

Metroline BYD1473 (LJ16 EZO) is seen on Oxford Street, heading for Willesden on the 98.

This was the second day in service for this bus, which was the first one the three to enter service.

The three, manufactured by Chinese company BYD, are thought to be the first battery electric double deckers in the world.

Thanksgiving Day 2019 - Lucky to have witnessed a beautiful sunset from Battery Spencer

I (along with many others) had the opportunity to stroll through the Battery St Tunnel today. So I did.

Golden Gate from Battery Spencer, Sausalito

I've shot from here before at Battery Place and West Street, but it's slightly different since the park renovations finished. The pavement is new and the Y shaped lamp looks new as well.
