These high intensity lights bring a super-real enchantment to an otherwise drab State street....
With crystalline purity they bathe the sullen characters beneath them transforming them into ethereal beings...
I singled out a fragment of the city as a representation of the whole thus allowing the viewer's mind's eye to complete the scenario.
In addition, the detailed beauty of this lighting and shadows give a rather pleasing view of an otherwise grey toned urban vista...
I actually wanted to leave out the Chicago marquee in the lower right and let your brain fill in everything, but that right corner works so nicely to complete the design.
. first fasting day... 😉

Und dann mal gucken....
I won't be online that much anymore ...
So please don't be sad if I answer less or don't see your pictures.
If you want to change, you have to change ...
Train differently, do more exercises, eat differently, bathe differently, sleep regularly at the same time ...
That's the plan.
Everything step by step. So that it runs in 2 weeks ... 😉 And then have a look ... on what happens with the time.
This is one of our more tame honeyeaters. It came in for a bathe while we were sitting right alongside the birdbath just four feet away.
Collared lizard perched on a boulder out in the desert, as it suns itself. When we moved to Colorado, I really wanted to see and photograph them, since we were quite used to different kinds of lizards from Florida. Before long, we found some and usually see them every year.
I find them fascinating and am always looking for new info to learn about them. These have the ability to raise to their handlers and run fast across the landscape. I was privileged to observe this one day and it's impressive. Also unlike most lizards, they rarely lose a tail, but if they do, they don't have the ability like other lizards to simply re-grow a new one.
I hope that you enjoy this image ... and to my family and friends in FL, I'm thinking about you. Stay safe.

I have and African trip coming up it’s on my mind. This image was one I was always attracted to but never got around to sharing. It’s back to my 2014 trip with Todd Gustafson, one of the best wildlife photographers I’ve had the pleasure to meet. We delightfully watched this herd of elephant at a drinking hole. I loved that for a long time only one took advantage of the opportunity and took a plunge and then burst out of the water as shown in this image. Talk about having fun! This illustration depicts the legend of the moment before Dooth, the leader of the Funnelbeaker peoples, first gazes upon Mar-Thol (who is about to disrobe to bath in the Nile) and becomes besotted with her beauty. They marry only later to be cursed with immortality with their memories of each other’s appearance erased by Arka-Arkitutti, the Witch-Queen of the Sea Peoples. For eternity they criss-cross the planet searching for one another with aching hearts.
Somebody needs to write an opera around this.

I'm still on a quest to catch one of these little welcome swallows at the moment it dips into the water. I'm slowly getting closer! I still haven't figured out whether they are just having a quick dip to bathe or are just grabbing a very quick drink. Either way, it is very entertaining to sit and watch them.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
Die letzen Sonnenstrahlen des Abends tauchen die Altstadt in ein magisches Licht / The last rays of the evening sun bathe the old town in a magical light.
It is a bird in the honeyeater family, and endemic to Australia. It is grey, with a black head, orange-yellow beak and feet, a distinctive yellow patch behind the eye and white tips on the tail feathers. It's a vocal species with a large range of songs, calls, scoldings and alarms, and almost constant vocalisations. They are gregarious and territorial; they forage, bathe, roost, breed and defend territory communally.
The noisy miner is a large honeyeater, 24–28 centimetres (9.4–11.0 in) in length, with a wingspan of 36–45 centimetres (14–18 in), and weighing 70–80 grams (2.5–2.8 oz). Male, female and juvenile birds all have similar plumage: grey on the back, tail and breast, and otherwise white underneath, with white scalloping on the nape and hind-neck, and on the breast; off-white forehead and lores; a black band over the crown, bright orange-yellow bill, and a distinctive patch of yellow skin behind the eye; a prominent white tip to the tail; a narrow olive-yellow panel in the folded wing; and orange-yellow legs and feet. A juvenile can be distinguished by softer plumage, a brownish tinge to the black on its head and the grey on its back, and a duller, greyish-yellow skin-patch behind the eye.
The noisy miner is a gregarious species, and the birds are rarely seen singly or in twos; they forage, move and roost in colonies that can consist of several hundred birds
The noisy miner does not use a stereotyped courtship display; displays can involve 'driving', where the male jumps or flies at the female from 1–2 metres (3.3–6.6 ft) away, and if she moves away he pursues her aggressively.
The noisy miner primarily eats nectar, fruit, and insects, and occasionally it feeds on small reptiles or amphibians.

The Rhine in Flames is a fireworks spectacular that takes place along the most scenic stretches of the Rhine every year between May and September. From Rüdesheim to Bonn, spectacular pyrotechnics and curtains of fire bathe the riverbanks and landmarks in a magical red glow, and a flotilla of illuminated riverboats glides beneath mesmerising patterns of light in the night sky.
