During this class we had to draw geometrical forms, mostly boxes,
for weeks. It startet with parallel boards, later parallel stacked boxes were added, even later non-parallel boxes and then finally some triangles and ellipses.
After that some weeks of nude life drawings followed.
At the end we draw some more "free" stuff like bikes, skeletons, cloths.
Additional we had to work at our sketchbook after class.

(It may sound like empty clichés, but just the other week I read a truly heart-wrenching reportage by Anna Politkovskaya about the commander of a nuclear submarine in Kamchatka, who in all sincerity embodied all these principles. The military in Kamchatka is plagued by a terrifying lack of resources - they can't maintain the submarines like they should be able to, all officers walk on foot to work, and this particular commander starved himself so that he could bring his assigned food rations back to his wife and daughter. And yet they keep working as well as they can, because they know that they are responsible for a most significant part of Russia's defense on the Pacific coast.)

El presidente de Renfe, Isaías Táboas, ha participado esta mañana en un desayuno informativo organizado por Executive Forum, con la colaboración de Indra, que se ha celebrado en el Hotel Palace de Madrid. Durante el encuentro, Táboas ha presentado el Plan Estratégico de Renfe para los próximos años, así como el enfoque de la compañía de cara a los retos que afronta el sector ferroviario en la actualidad.
Berta Barrero, directora del Mercado de Transportes de Indra, ha presentado el evento e introducido al presidente. Barrero se ha referido al apasionante escenario en el que se encuentra el sector ferroviario de cara a la próxima liberalización y la transformación digital que afronta en la actualidad. En este sentido, ha manifestado la voluntad de Indra de “reivindicar nuestro papel de referente tecnológico en la movilidad del siglo XXI”, poniendo al ciudadano en el epicentro.
Táboas ha comenzado su intervención reconociendo que el sector del transporte, en general, debe ser consecuente y responder al fenómeno actual de la metropolización y “la España vacía”. En este contexto, ha presentado el Plan Estratégico de la compañía como la hoja de ruta con la que pretende afrontar el reto de la transformación digital (que afecta a todas las empresas de transportes) y los desafíos propios y específicos que identifica Renfe. En referencia a estos últimos y contemplando la ya próxima liberalización, el presidente ha destacado, fundamentalmente, el ser capaces de competir por el mercado de la alta velocidad y del transporte de viajeros, así como la necesaria evolución hacia una logística integral con el objetivo de "ampliar nuestra cadena de valor y dar soluciones a nuestros clientes de puerta a puerta".
De este modo, el Plan Estratégico plantea tres objetivos clave para Renfe: incrementar su facturación, ganar en eficacia y seguir mejorando la calidad y la seguridad del transporte de viajeros y mercancías. Para alcanzarlos, Taboás ha explicado que Renfe apuesta por combinar tres pilares y tres palancas básicas, plasmándolos en más de 50 proyectos concretos. Los pilares contemplarían el foco en el cliente, la internacionalización y la eficiencia y seguridad, mientras que las palancas serían la transformación digital y cultural y las alianzas estratégicas. Con respecto a estas últimas, el presidente se ha mostrado como “un gran defensor de la competitividad y la cooperación entre empresas” como la mejor estrategia para poder operar un entorno y mercado cada vez más complejo.
Precisamente ha destacado la relevancia de estas alianzas estratégicas en los procesos de internacionalización, expresando que “queremos ser proactivos en esta tarea”. Por este motivo, ha explicado que Renfe busca partners y aliados en otros mercados (no solo de alta velocidad, sino que también de servicios públicos), para poder instalarse en ellos y ofrecer precios y productos competitivos.
Since the inception of the Abhidhamma Classes, many have come forward to express their interest in basic Buddhism which is taught in many viharas. Thanks to Brother TY Lee who offered to share his extensive knowledge in the subject and thus the first class started in February 2010. Thru words of mouth, many others got to learn about this wonderful teaching and as such a new class was formed in 23 July. A big Sadhu to Brother TY Lee, who is better known for his book "Just Be Good".

East Riding College wanted to promote their media and designs courses to local students. The courses were being ran from the new Bridlington Campus and the design needed to capture the imagination and inspire prospective students.

This is my beginning wire project for those who have never worked with wire in their jewelry. I teach the wrapped loop and working with jump rings, both as a connector and as a design element. It's a quick way to get a fun, unique bracelet.
TARA all tied up in her home berth at Burrard Civic Marina after a 2 week adventure. TARA did well, and I proved that the basic navigation skills I learned in the early 1980's are vital in having a safe, and enjoyable, boating trip.
Clothes by five designers whose work defines contemporary Dutch fashion will be on view in Arnhem from Saturday 2 June through Sunday 29 July 2012. Objects, photographs and scale models created by product designers, photographers and architects will also feature in the exhibition Basic Instincts: Dutch Fashion in Context, hosted at the Eusebiuskerk by Premsela and the Museum voor Moderne Kunst Arnhem. Basic Instincts first appeared in Berlin in July 2011.
