My first assignment to improve my photography skills. I used a black mouse pad, a shoebox covered in white printer paper, an egg and finger lights. It was done on my kitchen table! Pretty simple set up. I am currently using a Fujifilm F200 EXR while I save money to purchase my first SLR camera.
Core Module: A half-day face-to-face module that talks about the basic human rights principles, the power of language in the creation of an inclusive work environment and unconscious bias, and gives an introduction to the basic concepts regarding substance use, disabilities, sexual orientation and gender identity, and mental health. This should always be the first module implemented as it lays the foundation for the three other modules. This session is suitable for workplaces that want to start a conversation about diversity, inclusion, standards of conduct, conflict prevention, staff well-being and related topics.
Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity: A half-day face-to-face module that explains the basics of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and other related concepts. During the session participants can expect to hear directly from LGBTI individuals, and from UN leadership regarding what is expected from an inclusive workplace where dignity for all should be guaranteed. This module is an ideal starting point for workplaces that want to make improvements on diversity, or for those who have to work on issues regarding human rights and sexual diversity as per the mandate of the organisation and the directives of the UN Secretary General.

I sketched the main design while I was camping last week, so maybe those triangles could be tents, though not my intention. For the other designs, I drew inspiration from an old atlas.

Today, Kumiho and his wife, Kitsune, are going to see what the gender of their baby is going to be. They dropped little Koneko off with Peeps (the best babysitter ever), and plan to tell her about her new sibling after the visit from Shire.

OK, start of the big nostalgia trip in the next few pages. Basically, I have to scan, and start putting that shoe box of old photos to good use.

Basic Boatbuilding is the focus of the first semester, which runs from early October to late December.
The instructors assume that most, if not all, students have no woodworking skills and proceed from that assumption. The skills taught in the first semester are those essential to boatbuilding, and the course, for that reason, is very "hands-on".
Students learn to sharpen and use all their tools, and participate in a wide range of individual skill-building exercises, from learning to make the joints commonly used in boatbuilding to a series of tools. Basic lathe work is taught. Students learn to draft and make a half-model. Then, working in pairs, they learn to loft a boat full-size on the floor. Finally, working, together as a team, the semester culminates in December as students work together to build a flat-bottomed skiff.
The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding is located in Port Hadlock WA and is a private, accredited non-profit vocational school.
Our mission is to teach and preserve the fine art of wooden boatbuilding and traditional maritime crafts. We build both commissioned and speculative boats for sale while teaching students boatbuilding the skills they need to work in the marine trades.
