I received 2 Parallax BASIC Stamp kits from a generous parent a few months ago, and I'm finally getting a chance to play with one. Using them on the Mac, I've had to find a piece of 3rd party software called macBS2 that lets me write programs for the BS, and I ended up having to use the USB-to-serial adaptor that came with the Scratch Board to connect it to the computer (the generic USB-to-serial cable I bought didn't work), but after all that was figured out, it worked out just fine!
Here you can see a very basic circuit set up - the included servo motor is connected to the BASIC Stamp HomeWork Board, and I've got various programs written that position the servo's horn, step it through its rotations, etc. Fun stuff!

From Artisan Bread In 5 Minutes A Day. I don't have the book, but found the recipe online at the recommendation of a friend. First time ever that I have used yeast. It wasn't so scary, but I'm totally surprised I got anything resembling bread out of it, I thought I'd fail miserably. My husband loves it.
