There is certainly no shortage of the legendary Hot Wheels 1963 Aston Martin DB5 casting in my collection with the majority naturally being sourced from the Mainline where it has already seen quite a number of recolours. The only special edition version i've managed to find so far was this James Bond Skyfall one which I managed to buy a few of when they initially appeared and subsequently a few more from ASDA when they were being sold off some months later. Apart from its packaging and rear number plate detailing its pretty much exactly the same as any basic version which in itself is certainly no bad thing when HW got it perfectly spot on first time around. A truly classy little diecast with crisp features and wonderful detailing. This particular one is part of the reduced to clear items I bought from ASDA back in January 2016. Mint and boxed.

The suspension bridge is perhaps the best known classic bridge design. They can be as simple or as complex as you need them to be. In this case, simplicity has been chosen. The Water of Saughs is crossed in a single span that makes no contact with the fast flowing water below. Poles at either end host the cables that support and hold up the wooden deck and said cables are well anchored into the ground at either end.
Whilst this bridge looks flimsy, it's design allows for movement and its lightweight nature means it's more likely to avoid damage during windy periods. Walking over it alone was certainly a fun experience. I had every confidence in the towers and the cables but the wooden deck directly had a tendency to creak when stepped on. I have a lot of respect for bridges like this.
Although I've titled this photo "Basic Bridge", this isn't the most basic suspension bridge I've come across. In Glen Nevis, the idea of a basic suspension bridge is taken to the extreme as three steel cables cross the river. Two to hold onto and one to walk across...

I received 2 Parallax BASIC Stamp kits from a generous parent a few months ago, and I'm finally getting a chance to play with one. Using them on the Mac, I've had to find a piece of 3rd party software called macBS2 that lets me write programs for the BS, and I ended up having to use the USB-to-serial adaptor that came with the Scratch Board to connect it to the computer (the generic USB-to-serial cable I bought didn't work), but after all that was figured out, it worked out just fine!
Here you can see a very basic circuit set up - the included servo motor is connected to the BASIC Stamp HomeWork Board, and I've got various programs written that position the servo's horn, step it through its rotations, etc. Fun stuff!
