I have been capturing interesting images of the flooding along the NEW "South Fork of the St.Vrain" and found another unedited pastoral shot near the Bashor barn. I have several fetching images of the old barn. This ditch is what was designated the South Fork of the St.Vrain. Still in all, I found the meandering ditch cool, tranquil and peaceful before the rains came. All has been flushed down river. I have a misguided fascination about this squirrelly ditch. This view is southwest, upstream toward the Bashor pasture.
This time I followed it on Google terrain so I knew where I was headed. I trudged about a football field to a relatively new bridge over the stream/ditch. There was an otter in the water there, but no tracks on the other side... just grasses nearly to the neck. and the private domain of the mosquitoes. This time I knew to travel around the westward course of the Meandering ditch but it was tough going through that grass until I hit another, smaller ditch that was soggy in the bottom. I was running out of steam and walked through it until I hit the electric fence. I grabbed a long blade of grass to test the fence. It was live but a tad weak so I only got bit once by accident. I snagged some shots (this is one) and found a place to roll under if properly equipped. Another time. Another plan of attack. I'll get closer yet! It's course through pastures fairly amazes me and I have a lot of shooting yet to do. I have a wider capture that shows the meandering ditch. I drove around by Crane Hollow and stopped at Broley. Ron wasn't there but I have been trying to shoot the abandoned barn out west. The ditch was designed to flood and water large tracts of river bottom land. I headed out to do a survey of the ditch from Ron's knowing He runs across the roads in this territory and he doesn't care if I travel the area too. The temps were back up as was the humditty. Well, it looks as if my time is limited at this venue! Next time I need to figure on taking on more hydration or wait until later at the end of the summer. I personally found this to be a satisfying glimpse of our St.Vrain Valley before they riddled it with gravel holes and laid the land dead as BoCo un-open space.
The gravel companies buy up the rights to recover the gravel but I am not sure they bought the rights to lay the land barren and strip it otherwise of any production. I wonder what the price af gravel if it cost the price of returning the ground back to production. I expect that the meandering ditch waters little but pastures any more.
Skylander Bash .... left hand one is sugarpaste, right hand one is artista. Did them in both as they had to be posted to Sheffield, happily they arrived in one piece

Photographed is Bash Bish falls in the border of Massachusetts and New York state during Fall season'2013. I had to stand in between two rocks (a little precariously I may add) so I'll get the right view without people in the frame as well with the smaller falls to the right. I used a Canon 7d, Sigma 10-20mm lens with a ND 3 stop filter.

I am so sick of people picking on Detroit. I'm not even going to mention the name of the latest hater but I'm sure you all know who it is. I don't deny that there are a ton of problems but it's by no means a dead city. Just look at all the lights and life in this image. And I really just want to say to all the haters, put your money where your mouth is. Come visit the city, spend some time and money there and get to know it and the people. It's really easy to throw stones from a glass house.

The New York Transit Museum held a Vintage Bus Bash on Governors Island the weekend of July 11-12, 2015. Four of its fleet of restored, classic New York City buses were ferried across to the island where visitors had a chance to get an up-close look at them.
