"It's amazing what you might find when you open a door and walk in." ~Me
Today, I spent a few hours exploring the city I've been living in for the past three months. I grew up twenty minutes away but never really spent any time here, ever. While loitering around the outside of a church I noticed a door slightly open. A peek through the glass showed me a few steps that led to the basement of the church. I've been in church basements before, normally function halls, so I expected no less here but I took the bait. I opened the door, and stepped inside...
I found a smaller version of the church in the basement of the church. Who woulda' known right? I guess you would expect it to be less ornate, or whatever, but it was done up real purdy like. They even had a small organ in the back.
Anyway, I guess my point is... totally not what I was expecting.
The ceiling black is 'Deep Space'. It went on as an alarmingly blue shade, so much so that I was certain it was the wrong color. But it dried very very black, just as desired.
So, the last Choc beer shot was shot with at 500mm at the same spot, this one was shot with a 10.5mm. Pale Ale is not my favorite, too bitter for me. But I am sure a lot of people love it.
In the basement of an abandoned motel, I found this crude set of shelves with these jars. Someone was very into canning (jarring) but I am not sure I would trust any of these today. The various colors, shapes, and amounts of decay (along with that bottle of bleach) give an eerie feeling to this scene from a dark, abandoned basement.

Even when you think you are at the top.
Even when you think you can't fall.
When you are the alpha.
Someone will prove you wrong.
The basement below J&J's Pizza served as a DIY venue for Denton musicians for almost 20 years before shutting their doors this summer. I documented part of their final week.
Because I heard a rumor that a car of strange decoration stopped in large quantities, I visited here. There was the car that all over the window was decorated with a doll there. I found the fellow passenger who attached a mask of Anonymous. There were some people grovelingly to the side of the car, has stuck a huge sticker.

I have another Pantry in the basement. It's great, it's dark and cold down there, perfect for storing food.
Forgot to check the shutting setting when I took this shot and afterwards realised it was only 1/15 sec :(

...of one long gone manor. It was demolished in late 1800's, but the trees and vegetation still remains about it's former garden 😊

A quick word about the concept: We construct our sense of identity/self/vision imperfectly groping around in the dark. This sense of self changes over time or more accurately- is constantly changing as it interacts with the world.

Even the woodland fort was not immune to water damage... It had a little basement flooding, though this little patch of forest did not get submerged.
