After spending time on the headland capturing the sun setting opposite Killantringan lighthouse, whilst driving back I noticed an owl sat on a post looking towards the pink horizon. I couldn't resist jumping out of my car and capturing the moment. ( I didn't have time to set up my tripod.)
I was reliably informed this was a typical posture of a Barn Owl.

It didn't go to plan on the Little Owl shoot this morning, so went to check on my Barn Owls.
I'm glad I did, just fantastic watching them!
we took a last minute visit to the cotswolds hoping to see hares boxing and male pheasants fighting, we saw neither of those but were graced for a few minutes by this beautiful barn owl as it quartered a field over a dry stone wall, such a fantastic sight.

Another from the Heathdale - Glen Orden Wetlands on this day in 2018.
Right place at the right time, conditions were just perfect for this shot, a little closer would of been lovely but il take this distance happily
I was sat at my computer enjoying a mug of coffee when I noticed this Barn Owl in the late afternoon sun at the far end of the field behind our house. A quick scramble for the camera and a few snaps before a squadron of magpies escorted it away!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.
Despite my friend and myself doing our best to hide behind a wall and buried in bushes, we were still spotted.
