Detail shot of a chestnut bark - Detailaufnahme der Rinde einer alten Rosskastanie.

The twisted, disheveled bark of a very short and bushy tree, possibly a pine, about a hundred feet (30.5m) from the building I work in. The branches are so low, one must duck while walking under it.

Wow, picture #2500 in my collection!

Bark has always been something that I like taking photos of. Today I took a little walk and found this piece of art on a tree. So this is my contribution to this weeks Macro Mondays.

Beetles, like artwork under the bark of a tree they consumed.

I had never seen this ghost like webbing before, but I found it strangely beautiful. A search revealed that it is made by Bark Lice (common name) and serve as protection from the elements for their colonies. They do not harm the trees and are not even really lice, but beneficial insects.

If you zoom in, you can actually see the tiny insect colony inside the webbing!!

The golden lily pond and the cork bark of the tree at Wilson Botanic Park. For Sliders Sunday. HSS

I'm not sure what this is about. It appears to have been created fairly recently with various architectural relics.

With a selection of rail replacement buses with the usual routes.

Buster running and barking back at seals off shore. The seals on Mavericks are drawn to the dogs running on the beach. They answer each other's barks.
