Barefoot novices on a street in Siem Reap, Cambodia. During our visits to Cambodia it seemed that more than half of the monks we saw were wearing no shoes. It was true whether they were walking on hot concrete, or on hot paved streets, or on rubble or stubble. They surely must have very tough feet.
