The Barcode Project is a section of the Bjørvika portion of the Fjord City redevelopment on former infrastructure and industrial land in central Oslo. It consists of a row of new multi-purpose high-rise buildings

In 2003, MVRDV together with Norwegian firms Dark and A-lab, won the competition for the Bjørvika waterfront development with the design of the Bjørvika Barcode, a dense urban masterplan along the boulevard Dronning Eufemias Gate. The masterplan comprises 250,000 m2 of mixed program, which now is near to Completion. Construction on the first buildings within the Barcode started in 2005. The famous ultra-thin housing Block by MAD arkitekters in the middle, completed in 2011.

Das Zentrum Oslo's ist eine Großbaustelle, aber ein Abschnitt dürfte jetzt fertig gestellt sein.

Es ist der Barcode......diese neuen kastenförmigen und teilweise treppenförmig abgestuften hohen Gebäude.

Ein Projekt, das nicht nur auf Wohlwollen und Sympatie stößt.

Als ich nach Norge gezogen bin habe ich den Beginn des Baus miterlebt, leider hatte ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht die Ambitionen das fotografisch mitzuverfolgen.

Jeden Tag bin ich an dieser Großbaustelle vorbei zur Arbeit gelaufen..........in der Freizeit habe ich Oslo gemieden, ich mochte die Stadt nicht.

Die ersten drei Häuser von links waren zu der Zeit gerade im Rohbau fertig.

Mittlerweile habe ich mich ausgiebig inmitten des Barcodes rumgetrieben, natürlich mit Kamera und ich kann nur sagen, es ist ein Eldorado für Fotografen.

Dort vergißt man Raum und Zeit......vorrausgesetzt man hat genügend Akku und Speicherkarten mit ;)))

A microscale model of Barcode quarter in Oslo. It was completed in 2016 and consists of a row of tall narrow buildings, hence its name.

The reason I decided to build Barcode is quite simple - I work just opposite, so it has become a very familiar sight.
