The song was "At Last" by Etta James. What a moment.

"A leader we can believe in."
[A silly anecdote: I actually brought his book, The Audacity of Hope, to have him sign if I "could get close enough." I had a permanent marker too. Oh well.]
Barack Obama spoke to about 18,000 people @ Kohl Center, Madison, Wisconsin. The students were reminded that if they are a student in Wisconsin they can vote. It was a great event. Late, for my little ten year old. But I think she will remember this night for a long time. I asked her what her strongest impression was from the night and she said "He's going to end the war." "You really believe he will do it don't you?" "Yes, she said, of course." I hope so. I believe he will.
The things that were important to this crowd seemed to be: the war, student credits to go to school. When he said they would have to work for it by volunteering the crowd went absolutely WILD! Imagine that. Cheering because he wants them to do something for others. They also went wild went he mentioned that George Dubya would NOT BE IN THE WHITE HOUSE. I think even Obama was taken aback by the cheering over that comment.
I did take quite a few photos of just the wall at the Artists of the Wall Festival in Rogers Park on June 15, 2008.
However, due to all of the people, getting a shot with an interesting angle posed a bit of a problem.
Hence I am only posting the shots on here that have some sort of iconic value like this one.
The full plethora of wall shots will end up on my other account in a few days.
This is not a bitter crop: The only 'Strange Fruit' we have in America's trees tonight are our bicycles. We've hung them there while we celebrate because our city's bike racks are full.

Thank god!!!!!!
What a wonderful, wonderful human being .....if anyone didn't hear his speech it will give you goosebumps!!
History has been made for so many reasons..........he will change not just America but the whole world!!!!!!! (I'm so relieved!!!!!!!)
Obama has made history!!! We have all been a part of it. To commemorate this historic event we have created some new posters based on the “New Hope” series. The new series, titled "We Made History" will have a limited run of 100 numbered prints, signed by artist Deroy Peraza, and is available in four colors.
I put this together in February or something and figured I'd share it now that he is the nominee and all.
