This is the westernmost point of Beijing. The stone monument and the mountains in the background are in BaoDing Prefecture of Hebei Province.
Among all the extreme points of Beijing this is the easiest to reach. The National Road G108 crosses the border here and you can meet the professional cyclists on their training rides as well as the occasional tourist on her motorbike. Nevertheless, it's a nice place and to ride down the switchbacks to JiuLong on a bicycle is intoxicating.

Yeah, ... So I guess the title for this photo lacks imagination... but, I was unable to think of anything that I liked. Today, I went to a tea shop with a group of people and tried various types of tea. Some of them I have had before, but others I had never had.
practiced in China? I know that legally, the answer is no. I have been here for over 3 years and have never seen a woman with this type of thing. I guess this store would have to find a woman with really small feet.
I took this photo at a shoe store on Yuhua Road in Baoding.
People do not dress like this anymore. It seems that all that is left of traditional China can only be found on walls like this one.
This is one of the few remaining back alleys in Baoding. These are being demolished and replaced with shiny, tall, new, concrete apartment complexes. This area has makeshift walls built around it, and I am thinking that soon, this will be demolished as well. The video I took here is me riding my bike through the area to capture it on video to help keep the memory alive.

Circumstance: This cat was sleeping on a scale at an animal hospital. As you can see, it is quite cute. I wasn't sure if it were friendly or not, so I didn't dare pet it.

Down West Street in Baoding. I was riding my bike down West street and I came across this cart. The grease is splattering everywhere, but they don't seem to care.

This area does not get many foreigners. When people first see me, they seem nervous. The local language is sometimes hard for me to understand, so communication is not very good. When I asked this boy's parents if I could take a photo, everyone else got as far away as possible, and he really does look lonely in this photo. I wasn't quite sure how to read the expression on his face. I wasn't sure if he was reacting to me, or if maybe the sunlight was too bright. Tang County is a part of Baoding Prefecture, which is in Hebei Province, China.
... But we want to make a good name for ourselves..
Qingyuan Xian is actually the name of this place. To me, it is remarkable that they would be OK with garbage being piled around it. Maybe it is a just a case that no one wants to take responsibility for keeping the area clean so no one does.
