A construction worker at the Bang Sue Grand Station takes a rest in the shade of her umbrella just in front of the side entrance to the station.

The ‘ole gal just plopped down for a nap—in Bang Sue near the MRT Bang Po metro station—having just been walking around checking in on stores and sniffing about a few minutes earlier. Thought she was an interesting color for feral Thai dog, not to mention it looks like she’s wearing a wig! Just noticed—one ear up, one down; maybe paying more attention than I know!

The locomotives to be seen in the previous pictures are followed by more abandoned Henschels and Davenports. Couldn't even spot the end of the line. Photo from 10.03.2024

Nearly two months (At the time when I'm writing) after the first run of brand-new locomotive for SRT but half of the current active fleets have broken down like engine problem, oil leak causing society to question whether this new loco hasn't been used that much and now already broken, why is such a new thing have a very low quality. So what's the next move of SRT to solve this problem and future of others that still sleeping at Sri Racha Station.

One of the reasons that the railway to Hua Lumphong is to close is to stop scenes like this. Only in Thailand would a motorway slip road be held up at a level crossing to allow a vintage train to chug past.

SRT locomotive #4040 is the last UM12C of the first batch delivered by General Electric in 1964. In the background, there is class QSY #5231, built by CRRC in 2023. So, these two engines stand for almost 60 years of diesel locomotive development. Photo taken on 10.03.2024 in the new Bang Sue Grand depot.

State Railway of Thailand (SRT) QSY 5205 slept at Bangsue Loco Workshop, its couple with other storage locos at the back. Seen that the situation of Thai Locos now have something doesn't feel right.

On a siding in the Bang Sue Junction depot, I spotted a long line of abandoned diesel locomotives. Among them are diesel hydraulics made by Henschel, but also many Davenports. Photo from 10.03.2024.

Wat Pho (Thai: วัดโพธิ์, pronounced [wát pʰōː] (About this sound listens)), also spelled Wat Po, is a Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is on Rattanakosin Island, directly south of the Grand Palace. Known also as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (Thai: วัดพระเชตุพนวิมลมังคลารามราชวรมหาวิหาร; pronounced [wát pʰráʔ tɕʰê:t.tù.pʰon wíʔ.mon.maŋ.kʰlaː.raːm râːt.tɕʰá.wɔː.ráʔ.má.hǎː.wíʔ.hǎːn]). The more commonly known name, Wat Pho, is a contraction of its older name, Wat Photaram (Thai: วัดโพธาราม; RTGS: Wat Photharam).

The temple is first on the list of six temples in Thailand classed as the highest grade of the first-class royal temples. It is associated with King Rama I who rebuilt the temple complex on an earlier temple site. It became his main temple and is where some of his ashes are enshrined The temple was later expanded and extensively renovated by Rama III. The temple complex houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, including a 46 m long reclining Buddha. The temple is considered the earliest center for public education in Thailand, and the marble illustrations and inscriptions placed in the temple for public instructions has been recognized by UNESCO in its Memory of the World Programme. It houses a school of Thai medicine and is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage which is still taught and practiced at the temple.

D-loco 601 - 2 Do-Do 2 Frichs 100 - 1931 - the only double locomotive delivered and by the time of taking this picture still alive (though as a heap of rust) on the outer (grave) yard of the locomotive depot Bang Sue.
