Morning on Bali — when the world is still quiet and the water mirrors the first rays of sunlight.
Everything slows down — time, breath, and thoughts.
A moment when nature whispers and the golden sky reflects peace within.

Ubud is a town on the Indonesian island of Bali in Ubud District, located amongst rice paddies and steep ravines in the central foothills of the Gianyar regency. One of Bali's major arts and culture centres, it has developed a large tourism industry.
Ubud has a population of about 8,000 people, but it is becoming difficult to distinguish the town itself from the villages that surround it.

Barong masks are some of the most important cultural artifacts in Bali. The Barong is a mythical beast that purifies and protects the village. The mask itself is a sacred object of worship and usually kept in a temple. Barong masks are taken out to perform dances and ceremonies on major holidays, most notably the Kunti Sraya, or Barong Dance. That dance recreates a contest between good (represented by the Barong and its followers) and evil (represented by the goddess of death, Rangda, and her followers).
I still have a few more shots of Bali to post! Have a great week end!

Sanur (Indonesian:Pantai Sanur, pronounced sah-noor) is a coastal stretch of beach of Denpasar city of southeast Bali, about 30 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, which has grown into a little town in its own right.
The northern part of Sanur beach was used as the landing site for the Dutch invasion troops during the Dutch intervention in Bali (1906). During World War II, Sanur was again the entry point through which the Japanese forces landed to occupy the island of Bali.
Today Sanur contains a number of resorts such as the Medina and Bali Hyatt (not to be confused with the Grand Hyatt in Nusa Dua) and is a popular tourist destination.

Tanah Lot is a rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali. It is home of a pilgrimage temple, the Pura Tanah Lot (literally "Tanah Lot temple") and a popular tourist and cultural icon for photography and general exoticism.
The area leading to Tanah Lot is highly commercialized and people are required to pay to enter the area. To reach the temple, visitors must walk through a carefully planned set of Balinese market-format souvenir shops which cover each side of the path down to the sea. On the mainland cliff tops, restaurants have also been provided for tourists.

Jimbaran is a fishing village and tourist resort in Bali, Indonesia. Located just at the south of Ngurah Rai International Airport, the beach is cluttered with seafood restaurants and some of the finest luxury hotels in the world. Tourism in Jimbaran has increased rapidly that has boosted local economy, but it suffered by the 2005 Bali bombings where the bomb exploded in one of the restaurants in Jimbaran. It is administered under Kuta South District along with Nusa Dua peninsula.
Jimbaran lies on the 'neck' of the southern peninsula in Bali and is widely known for the fresh seafood kiosks that are scattered along the beach. Diners select the live seafood that they wish to eat, and it is immediately prepared, generally grilled over a fire of coconut husks rather than charcoal.

In Bali, Le Mayeur met and fell in love with Ni Wayan Pollok Tjoeglik, a 15-year-old Legong dancer who was 37 years his junior. Ni Pollok became his lifelong muse and model. In 1933, his paintings, largely featuring Ni Pollok, were exhibited at the YMCA in Singapore. The exhibition was a great commercial success. Le Mayeur then used the proceeds to purchase land at Sanur Beach in the southeast of Bali, where he built a beautiful ocean-facing home and studio. Villa Le Mayeur, as it came to be known, featured a gorgeous courtyard and garden full of flowers and palm trees.
