Bridge task on the new bridge

Photojournalists-in-training, digital media practitioner wannabes, adventurous teenagers, and dedicated high school students of Butuan City set out to capture the magic of this race and create a media product from this event

Everybody chips in to puch the Balangay into the water during the aunch of the Balangay. Team leader Art Valdez is directing the tug boat. Tribal people fomr the Banowaon, Manobo and Talaandig tribes are helping out as well.

Even visitors to the city and who joined the race get to eat their share of the delicacy

The Balangays are stopping over for major repairs at the Southern Command Naval Base in Zamboanga. The Diwata is being pulled onto the beach so a keel can be added and the sides can be made higher. Finishing touches the night before going back out to sea.
