The White Canvas Gallery presents an open challenge to enable you to stand united for peace. Lets disown the mindless violence around us and lets DO something about it as artists.

NS intermodal train #220 comes through Villa Rica, GA with a pair of EMD SD70ACe's for power from KCS and NS. The train would soon stop at Baggett to meet Amtrak.

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has "Fortlandia", a collection of forts for play. "Wormholes by sculptor Brent Baggett of Oculi Studio has a trippy pattern and peekaboo windows. It “invites visitors to squirm and wiggle their way through spiraling passageways as they imagine themselves in a subterranean world.”

Okay, so a CSX SD40-2 leading a road train in 2021 is not the thing that’s weird about this photo. However, what & where it’s leading is something I did not see coming. CSX 8064 leads Norfolk Southern train 10A, new Mercedes Benz vehicles built in Vance, AL bound for the Port of Brunswick, GA, heads east as it climbs Baggett Curve on the west side of Douglasville, GA on NS’s Birmingham East District. Seeing an SD40 leader on CSX is something that can still be seen in 2021, but to see one on NS leading a road train (let alone one from a foreign line) has become extremely rare. This naturally had a lot of railfans, including myself, out to go after this rare occurrence, because lord knows when/if it’ll ever happen again. 11-14-21
Local L382 is working the Baggett Grain Elevator (visible in the background) during a rare appearance in Springfield. While this Monday through Friday job is profiled as running from Casky, Kentucky to Springfield, it rarely runs south of Guthrie, Kentucky (where it works the Koppers Tie Yard and R.J. Corman Memphis Line interchange).
Baggett Elevator took over operations at the former Robertson-Cheatham Farmer's CO-OP elevator several years ago. The elevator just returned to shipping via rail a couple of years ago, having shipped via truck for the better part of the Baggett's ownership.

Located in the heart of Kingston, Tennessee on E. Race Street, this great piece of Americana screams for a photograph to be taken. Vintage neon, an old broken clock, some rust, and a lot of character...just a beautiful piece of small town U.S.A.
Image was taken during my trek to photograph all 95 county courthouses across my home state of Tennessee...now revisiting in order that the courthouses were photographed!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
