Learning to work the Backhoe at the Construction awareness day at Taft Middle School for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders
We keep an eye on all the various construction projects going up and down in our neighborhood near work, mostly on our way to lunch. Here we stopped and marveled at the tiny tractor in the tiny hole.
A friend offered to come over and help dig out the trenches that had filled in. He has a nice John Deere Tracker and Backhoe. I was very excited, not only because it meant less digging for me, but because the wide trench is so much easier to work in!
We stopped at the Holiday Inn in Morgantown to give the kids a bathroom break, and this nifty, wooden, construction machine playset was for sale nearby.
In preparation for Hurricane Hanna, the City of North Myrtle Beach removed anything that could possibly fly away. This is a box containing chairs and umbrellas.
This tank was the same as the one in the background. Some how about halfway up the side of the tank they cut into the tank and peeled the middle steel band like peeling an orange. What you see standing is the bottom section up to the bottom of the peel.
