Today was the first day back to work. I'll have students next Monday. I have many great ideas rolling around in my head that I keep forgetting as the next idea rolls in, or another responsibility demands priority. I will need to sleep on it tonight and try to get those ideas on paper tomorrow. I am pretty excited about a new school year and new opportunities, but also nervous about many changes made due to lack of funds.

Say some prayers for me and the kiddos who end up with me this year.

August Msh~ Busy as a beaver

Back to work this week for in-service, just not in the mood or the frame of mind. Thank goodness for roses to brighten my mood.

Semi-retirement has been a great run...relaxing, exciting, eye-opening, fun, adventurous & rewarding to say the least AND all on a budget trim & tidy enough to embarrass the pants off of most every member of Congress. But as the saddest adage on earth proclaims, "all good things must come to an end",so today I began a 'new' job, or Chapter 2009, as I prefer to call it. I'm grateful to have found a job at all in these economic times and fortunate to have landed such a cool one, customized to my liking right down to costume (my own!!) & commute (mere steps!!) The obvious drawbacks will be less time to prowl Flickr and fewer miles in the wind, for now, but unlimited Flickr, endless highway & new tires for the future.

I will pop in as often as I can and in the meantime, wishing all of you a complete set of tires and plenty of road to adventure down *-*

Keep well out of the way if you don't want a soaking

Help! I'm going to work Friday. I needed to see this shot on my photostream so I can remember what an airplane looks like. I have lost the keys to the B-757 and probably can't find the Salt Lake Airport (or a runway) with a seeing eye dog. If you can help, please e-mail or call crew scheduling. The life you save may be mine.

before you get to the mountains, you've got to endure a few bazillion miles of corn fields and hay bales.

when I was a kid we played car bingo and bury the cows to pass the time. Now I play stick the camera out the car window and try to hold it steady over the bumps in the road.

March 18, 2020 - Praise the Lord! I am back at work today! Last night, I received a text from my Coworker informing us that Orange County was ordering the closure of nonessential businesses. We fell under that category, so we thought that we would shutter down through March 31, 2020. Then this morning, Orange County revised their order, as there was plenty of misunderstandings about the rules and policies. So thankfully I did get called back into work this morning! As you can see, we have Purell, and we are very conscious of the importance of staying clean and well for the sake of public health. For each day that I am alive, healthy, well, and able to work, I do count my blessings! But I remember to pray for those who are struggling in the midst of this Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, are on furlough, or lost their jobs.

Wishing I was home with Mr. Henry (the new kitty) instead. My desk wasn't nearly as overrun with backed up work as I was expecting (YAY!).

Some things I did on my stay-cation:

Went swimming

Went to the movies (Transformers, kids' choice)

Slept in late (9:30 or so, not really late)

Cleaned house (though not completely)

Cleaned out boys' room

Got the boys a new dresser

Played water volleyball

Went bowling

Ate a greasy burger

Was lazy

Got a pedicure

Ate watermelon

Bought a pair of leopard-print flats (cheapies from Target)

Got a new kitty

I'm wearing my new favorite summertime outfit today. I needed comfort. Plus, I'm wearing my awesome name-necklace (in case anyone at work forgot who I am) given to me for Hannukah last year by my mother-in-law.

Is it 5pm yet?

All set for the return to work after the festivities.

Shirts ironed, suits and ties pressed, shoes polished.

I'm back full-time in London from tomorrow so I'll be at the mercy of First Capital Connect on my daily commute. Torrential rain and 80mph winds are forecast, so I'll be amazed if the trains are running on time: power cables down, leaves on the line, etc. It might just be easier to drive instead!

Time flies when you are not working! This is it....last night of vacation. Tomorrow is the first day that teachers resurme work, and the kids come on Monday. This means that the alarm starts going off between 5:00 and 5:15 am again, that tutoring resumes, and that grad school starts back in full swing....school law from 8:00 - 5:00 on Saturdays.

Vacation was great....working on reviewing all of my film stuff, watching lots of bad TV, sleeping past 7:00 am, and never cooking.

Hoping to make 2007 the best year yet! It never seems like it ever truly starts until vacation is over, and it looks like time's up!

...about going back to work.
