I know I really should take new pictures, I only have oldies to show you, I'm afraid. :(
I need motivation, but it's hard with these grey skies. ^_^
Je sais que je devrais vraiment faire de nouvelles photos, j'ai bien peur de n'avoir que des vieilleries à vous montrer. :(
J'ai besoin de motivations, mais c'est dur avec ces ciels gris. ^_^
Pilsbury, the logger, was a tough survivor. He wasn't book-learned, but he had an innate feel for his surroundings, & an instinct for survival. He knew he would be driving loggin' trucks all his life. He didn't know anything else. He was part of a tight-knit fraternity of like-minded individuals. Headstrong. Predictable. Serious. But his story was different than most...Pilsbury was cut from loggin' stock. His whole family, & extended family, had all been loggers, back to when mules hauled-out the logs. His brother-in-law ran the mill in Noti{No-tie}Oregon; & Pilsbury had been driving logging trucks since he was 16. It was the only life he knew. The furthest he'd gone from his birthplace, in Walton, was Eugene. & of course, to the coast by Waldport. That's all the distance he had ever yearned to go-except once-when he had wanted to go to Portland, to see Elvis. The Elvis! Elvis Presley! But he missed that chance. His sister, Zona, did get to go with his brother-in-law, Harry. Pilsbury had to babysit their 8 kids that night, while Harry & Zona were livin' it up @ the Elvis concert, & probably painting-the-town in Portland! That pissed him off for years afterwards, but Pilsbury kept it to himself!
I also brought Nikon 105mm f2.5 manual lens but I thought I might try Nikon 50mm f1.4d. And it didn't focus well because auto focus system doesn't give me what I wanted. So I had to control myself.
Take control the scene makes me feel good--actually amazing....

Instinct
Instinct reinterprets animal print in a clever, modern way that makes it suitable for even the most refined environment. The medium-scale pattern comes from a heavy rayon yarn in the weft that also provides shimmer and dimension. The matte cotton ground gives the pattern contrasting sheens, while a nylon warp adds strength. Instinct is woven with a recycled polyester binder yarn for the purpose of dimensional stability. Available in 7 colors, ranging from the beautiful ivory Snow Leopard to the rich purple Lynx, this 54” upholstery is ideal for accent pieces, benches, side chairs, and pillows. Exceeds 50,000 double rubs with acrylic backing for support and a Teflon finish for increased stain and moisture resistance.

LIVE in BANGKOK
Impact Arena Bangkok, Thursday 28 June, 2007.
As can be seen from the EXIF data on some of the images in this series I'd had to bump up the ISO to 1600. All photographs were taken at maximum zoom of my 18-200mmVR and at shutter speeds varying from 1/30th to 125th of a second.
The VR worked beautifully, and the difficulty was in capturing images at the point/s of least movement (to minimise blurring of legs, arms, etc.).
I can't wait for Christina's brand new album!!
Here's my cover for the album supposed to be called "Bionic." Hopefully there are hot dance songs and the usual big vocals from Xtina.

Transportation Director Leah Treat announced today that the Portland Bureau of Transportation surpassed its goal of preserving 100 lane miles of City streets during the budget year that ended June 30.
In 2015-16, PBOT expects to apply more crack sealing to arterial streets, as a way to extend the life of those streets and avoid more costly rebuilds and repaving projects. At a news conference on North Argyle Street, crews demonstrated how it works.
For every $15 million we invest in preventive maintenance, PBOT estimates the City of Portland can avoid at least $50 million a year in future costs.
