The Signet 80 was a late and rather ambitious addition to Kodak's midrange Signet series. The three interchangeable lenses may have been aimed at the era's Argus C44, but arguably Ann Arbor stole right back with the styling of the Autronic 35.
Kodachrome films always required a complex and exacting development process, which only specialized labs could handle. Ektachrome originally came out of WWII research into a color process that could be developed in the field without specialized equipment.
In this era the ASA emulsion speeds were stated as:
• Kodachrome II, ASA 25
• Kodachrome X, ASA 64
• Ektachrome X, ASA 64
* High-Speed Ektachrome, ASA 160
…with 500-speed Anscochrome taking the top ASA rating for slide films on the market.
